Crawford, who documents the calls received by 911 operators on TikTok, shared a strange first date story that left internet users stunned. Narrating the account, she described it as the "creepiest story I have heard all year." A woman had met a guy on Tinder a couple of years ago. They had FaceTimed a few times, and she described him as a nerdy man. The woman who had colored her hair a vibrant red shade noted that he commented a lot about her hair. "He told her that his mom had cancer and her hair looked exactly like hers before she lost it," Crawford revealed. However, his compliments and comments about her hair did not really bother the woman.
They decided to go on a movie date. However, she soon noticed that something was pulling her hair. She realized that her date was chewing on her hair and grinding it with his teeth. She immediately recalled all the weird comments he had made about her hair. She thought of a True Crime story about a man obsessed with a woman's red hair, in which the woman had been his target. When she decided to leave, she realized that her wallet and her keys were beside him, so she waited until the movie finished. She then asked him to get inside his car, while she escaped through the crowd. However, her phone buzzed as she received a text from him that sent chills down her spine. His message read, "Before you block me, any chance you wanna come over? Never got the chance to play with your hair the way I wanted to." She immediately blocked the man everywhere and dialed 911.
Crawford concluded by advising people to trust their instincts. A 2015 study published in Violence Against Women examined women’s recognition of risks during dates. The study noted that women have an optimistic bias; they suspect other women are at higher risk than themselves. The study highlighted that women often monitor acquaintance sexual aggression; however, it is important to implement measures to help women arm themselves against such violence.
Online users chimed in to share their thoughts on the story. @janiebell1960 exclaimed, "That's so gross, weird & dangerous!" @Holdi-Locks wrote, "Doesn't this make you want to be out there choosing better? I'd have a full head of white hair that falls out from fear." @toostankincute commented, "She should have left with what she could. Go straight to a manager. Ask for the police if necessary."
