Man struggling financially was on his way to pawn his wedding ring—helping a blind person on the way ended up changing his life

A person's kindness might come back to them a hundred times over. A man experienced that in his life after he decided to help a blind person, while struggling financially himself. The man, Curtis Dixon, was on his way to American Jewelry and Loan to pawn his wedding ring to pay his utility bill. But then he chanced upon a blind man who asked for his help. Moments later, Dixon was shocked to learn about the man's true identity, per Fox 2 Detroit.

The blind man asked the Detroit resident if he could spare a few dollars and help him out. Dixon was really struggling at the time. The lights at his house had been turned off and he had decided to pawn his wedding ring when he met the man. "Could you help me stand up?" the blind man asked Dixon. He helped the blind person to his feet and told the man that God had asked Dixon to help him. The man, Zach Dereniowski, wasn't actually blind, but an online influencer who went by MDMotivator and ran a charity. However, Dixon had no idea about that. When Zach asked the man for a few dollars, he agreed to give him money once he came out of the jewellery shop.

"I’ll have a couple of bucks when I come out here. I’m going to pawn my wedding ring, man. My lights were shut off yesterday. Yeah, I’ll give you a couple bucks," Dixon explained. The man returned from the shop and then Zach revealed that he was not actually blind and that he had a special gift for Dixon in exchange for his kindness. "He tells me he's not blind. I'm like 'Whoa!' I'm testing him, how many fingers? He says two, after that, my life just changed," Dixon recounted. Zach told him that he had a "first" gift for the first person who showed him kindness and decided to get the man's lights back on to start with.

Soon enough, Dixon got a range of gifts and cash. He received $5000, then $2,500 from the gold shop, he also got a new car in the next few days. Eventually, people from all around the world raised $100,000 for Dixon and he was surprised by the amount. "We need more people like Curtis in this world. Everyone can do these small acts because the small acts are what matter. That’s where all this money came from. Everyone who had a small amount to give wanted to give to you because they felt your heart," Zach revealed. Les Gold from American Jewelry and Loan also thought that the moment was really touching.
"You watch Zach and he gives away tens of thousands, if not millions of dollars. Life-changing to these people and it’s just so wonderful. When we walked outside, I was crying because it brought out such emotion and the love they get with each and every one of Zach’s giveaways it’s indescribable," Gold pointed out. On the other hand, Dixon felt that God had a hand in changing his fortune. "I keep asking him why. Why did you help me? Because God told me to help you. First and foremost. I would do it for you, I would do it for anybody else."
