Man under anesthesia after wisdom teeth surgery sees his dogs and panics — the reason left his family in hysterics

When Tommy (@scipioskincare) was still under anesthesia after his wisdom teeth removal, he panicked when he saw his dogs. The reason he freaked out left his family chuckling. Sharing the old video with his TikTok followers on February 19, 2026, Tommy revealed how it became one of his embarrassing moments, looking back at it now.

TikTok user Tommy had gotten his wisdom teeth removed a couple of years ago, and it took some time for the anesthesia to wear off. In the video he shared, the man was being fed by his mother when his dogs approached him. However, Tommy began panicking and calling them "dinosaurs." His family, who began laughing hysterically, captured the moment. The overlay text in the video read, "If you're worried about embarrassing yourself under anesthesia, I thought my dogs were dinosaurs after getting my wisdom teeth removed."

Patients often react dramatically or feel confused after waking up from anesthesia because the brain is in a disinhibited state. Due to this, different emotions return unevenly, making the person seem more confused about the present. Soon after his video went viral, many users reacted to the hilarious post. The humorous video of the man mistaking his dogs for prehistoric animals sparked laughter among internet users. 

@teamdaenerys5 mentioned, "The best part is it sounds like you're alerting everyone around as if they don't know." @Ary recounted, "Under anesthesia, my cousin thought her dog was a bear and wouldn't walk into the house." @keith noted, "These videos are always so crazy to me because what anesthesia do you have that does this?"

As anesthesia fades, people may struggle to fully process what is happening around them. In another story, a young woman named Ashley woke up from tonsil surgery and had a dramatic reaction after learning about her procedure. In the video shared online, she asked if she had received a Brazilian Butt Lift. However, when the doctors said no, she immediately began crying, complaining, "Why didn't I get a BBL? I was right here. I wanted a BBL." The person who sat next to her tried to console her while trying to contain their laughter. Needless to say, her reaction left her family and the doctor shocked.

This story was also similar to that of musician Rachel Levin, who was getting her wisdom tooth removed. Levin, who was under the influence of anesthesia, mistook her gay best friend for her husband. Her dramatic reaction to seeing him made him burst out laughing. In the video, Levin asked him if he came out before or after their marriage, to which he responded that he came out after the wedding. She quickly lamented, saying it "keeps" happening to her.
