Man who ghosted her suddenly asked for her address at 11 p.m. on a Friday — the location she sent triggered 32 missed calls by morning

She never expected to hear from the man who ghosted her, especially with the late-night request.

Being ghosted is frustrating enough, but no one really expects the person who disappeared without a word to suddenly reappear as though nothing happened. Threads user Barbara Seiling, who goes by @barbara_seiling, shared her experience on Thursday, July 23, 2026. After being ghosted by a man she had been talking to, she received an unexpected text from him at 11 p.m. on a Friday night asking if she was awake. His one request prompted Seiling to come up with a response he almost certainly never expected.

After confirming she was awake, Seiling watched the conversation take a not-so-desirable turn when the man casually asked her to text him her address. Although appalling, rather than getting angry, she chose a different path. Instead of sending the actual location, she searched for a nearby cemetery, copied its address, and sent it to him without any explanation. Then, satisfied with her response, she smiled to herself and went to bed after silencing her phone. By the time she woke up the next morning, her phone had exploded with 32 missed calls, 18 voicemails, and 20 text messages, revealing that her prank had clearly exceeded her expectations.

People rarely cheer for revenge alone. More often, they're reacting to the audacity that made it feel deserved in the first place. The timing of his request also raised eyebrows. Reaching out at 11 p.m. and asking for her address after disappearing without explanation made many people wonder what he expected to happen, as it hardly seemed like the start of a thoughtful or even respectful reunion.

Fellow Threads users surely had some hilarious reactions to the situation. @crdlove2 said, "Sending the ghost back to the grave."  Meanwhile, @lekat.noir commented, "This is so wild to me. How do you not look up the address and see on the map that it's a cemetery?" @chalcedoney wrote, "You should text back, 'What’s the matter, Casper? I thought you liked ghosts.'"

Speaking of putting people in their place with a satisfying conclusion after being ghosted, in another story, Threads user Sarah L. shared how she ran into a man at the gym nearly a year after he had ghosted her. Instead of acknowledging what had happened, he struck up a casual conversation as though they had simply lost touch over time. He claimed he couldn't remember her name, said he had deleted the dating app shortly after they met, and offered several explanations for why he had never reached out again. Among his excuses was that he no longer had her phone number.

Rather than argue or call him out, Sarah calmly pulled out her phone and dialed his number while looking directly at him. Within seconds, his phone rang, and her name appeared on the screen, exposing that her contact had been there all along. According to her, the man reacted with what she described as "sheer horror" before quickly trying to recover by asking if she wanted to have dinner sometime.

The woman, however, had the perfect response ready. She smiled and replied, "I don't think my girlfriend would like that," before walking away and returning to her workout, leaving him to sit with the very lie that had just unraveled in front of him. Respect is often revealed not by how people enter someone's life, but by how they choose to return to it. Once trust has been broken, timing alone is rarely enough to make old actions disappear.
