Mom begged to be included in her daughter’s family drawings — the Mother’s Day card made her rethink that wish

However, when she finally received a Mother's Day card featuring a drawing of herself, the context behind it left her questioning everything. Sharing the hilarious video with her Instagram followers on Monday, May 11, 2026, the mother revealed how the Mother's Day card left her shocked.
Leigh had always wanted to appear in her daughter's drawings. When she found herself missing from them, her daughter would assure her, saying she "wasn't there that day." Finally, Leigh received a card on Mother's Day from her daughter and was excited to look at the drawing. But as she flipped through the pages, she noticed a note that read, "When you die, I always know that you will be looking down on us, hoping that me and Rhys (her brother) won't be in a fight. But in reality, we're going to be having the time of our lives!" The drawing underneath showed her kids in old age, while the mother's ghost dangled above them.
The mother, stunned by the hilarious drawing, quipped, "Not quite the Mother's Day card I was expecting... Happy Mother's Day to me." However, the daughter had a completely different meaning behind the drawing. In another video, Leigh clarified that she had initially misinterpreted her daughter's artwork. It turned out that the daughter meant that even after her mother died, she would still always be with her children as a ghost. The sweet explanation warmed Leigh's heart, and the daughter redrew the Mother's Day card, this time with a simple "Happy Mum Day" wish.
"An important clarification. The absolute sweetest thing," the mother wrote. While Leigh had expected a sweet drawing and heartfelt Mother's Day card from her daughter, she instead received something that initially left her confused. But in the end, her daughter's clarification made everything clearer. After all, kids have their own unique way of expressing themselves!
