Mom dog-sitting friend's pets attacked by 2 large pit bulls—her 6-yr-old daughter's life-saving move averted tragedy

A little kid might show more courage than we give them credit for. A 6-year-old did just that when she saw her mom being attacked by two pitbulls. It all started when the mother and daughter duo were pet sitting the two dogs for a friend one morning, when the two dogs started attacking each other. Soon enough, they jumped on the mom, Lindsay Stroup and began attacking her. The daughter, Lily Goligowski, had a quick response that gave her mom another chance at life, per KXII.com.

"Even if you think you know these animals, they can still flip a switch without you even being aware of that switch being inside of them," Thomas Goligowski, Lily's dad, remarked. The man was pretty shaken by the incident as he shares a great relationship with Lindsay and she is a significant part of his life. "She’s a very important part of my life, helping me raise this child. I can’t imagine my life without her." When the dogs began attacking her mom, the little girl used the only way out she could think of. "Lily's response to what was going on with her mother was to take the cell phone, lock herself in the bathroom, and dial 911," Thomas recounted.

Lily managed to keep herself safe by the time help arrived for her mom. Soon after the police arrived, they rushed Lindsay to a local hospital for treatment. The woman was in a very critical condition when she received medical help. "She witnessed her mother on the ground, rolling around, being attacked by multiple dogs with wounds and things of that nature. It’s a very intense situation for my family," the dad pointed out.

Even after witnessing the harrowing incident, the little girl showed resilience and hope and even reassured her dad that everything was going to be fine. "She’s been telling me: 'Dad, Mom’s going to be okay. I know Mom’s going to be okay. Don’t be sad, Dad. She’s going to be fine.'" The woman went through several surgeries to treat her injuries ever since the incident and has been in the hospital ever since. A GoFundMe was set up on behalf of Lindsay by Holly Stroup to help cover her treatment and recovery costs. The organizers shared that the mom wouldn't have made it if Lily hadn't shown so much bravery at that time.
However, the family has a "long road ahead for them, including a long stay at the hospital and an even longer journey in physical therapy after she has recovered." They hoped that people could help as Lindsay tried to rebuild her life and the strength in her body. "She is a strong, resilient woman, but any help would be greatly appreciated, even if all you can afford is to keep her in your thoughts and prayers." On 21st July, Holly shared, "Lindsay is off the propofol and has opened her eyes, nodded her head and grimaced. She is going to receive another unit of blood, but is improving." The fundraiser had managed to collect $11,059 out of its $12,000 goal at the time of writing.
