Noelle mentioned that her son was genuinely curious about the idea of tampons and periods. “And not in a teenage giggly, obnoxious way. Like he really wants to understand what women go through,” she remarked. So she sat him down and spoke to him about the whole process of menstruation and how it is a preparation for childbirth. She even explained how hormones, cramps, and other factors affect how women feel. The mom shared whatever was appropriate for his age so he could understand the topic and build a foundation of knowledge about it. To her surprise, he had an unexpected reply. “He couldn’t believe how guys will act like we’re whining and not even bother to understand a woman’s body,” she recalled.
