Getting back into a routine after having a baby can be tough, and sometimes, a little encouragement goes a long way. Krissy, who shares glimpses of her life on Instagram as @krissyslittlelife, was just seven weeks postpartum and had only recently been cleared to work out again. She posted a reel on October 25, 2026, explaining that a stranger at the gym noticed her and said something that stayed with her long enough to inspire her to share a reminder about how much a few thoughtful words can mean.

In her Instagram reel, Krissy explained that she had returned to the gym the week before after being cleared at her six-week postpartum checkup. Since it was her first week back, she was taking things slowly and easing into working out again. When a coach asked if she could lift heavier weights, she explained that she was still recovering and didn't want to push herself too hard just yet. While she was taking it easy, a woman working out next to her noticed her and said something that really stuck with her. "Wow, I can't imagine coming to the gym this early in the morning after not sleeping," the woman told her, adding, "I didn't even want to get up this morning, and I don't even have kids." For Krissy, who was still adjusting to life with a newborn, hearing that kind of understanding from a stranger meant a lot.

Krissy was touched by the woman's words and made sure to return the kindness. "Thank you so much. Good for you too, like you got up, and you showed up for yourself. You made it to the gym even though you didn't want to; you still did it," she told her. It was a small exchange, but one that left Krissy thinking about how much a little encouragement can mean, especially when someone is going through a difficult phase. The moment also reminded her of all the times she'd wanted to tell another mom who looked like she was struggling that she was doing a great job. Krissy ended her video with a reminder for everyone to make the effort to say something nice to someone.

As she said, one kind comment can change a person's day, mood, or even their perspective. Her message resonated with viewers, too. One commenter, @chelsea_mulholland, wrote, “I had a woman tell me that I had an amazing aura in a coffee shop years ago, and I still think about that all the time.” Another viewer, @jesskknox_, simply wrote, "Love this." Meanwhile, @stephaniereyes5916 summed up the message perfectly, commenting, "Words are so powerful."

A kind compliment can make a difference in more ways than we realize, especially during a time when someone may feel vulnerable about their changing body. In another story, multifaceted creator Yulia Fomenko was filming a pregnancy outfit check on a busy New York street when a stranger called out, “Yes, girl, you look so freaking cute. You are absolutely glowing.” The unexpected compliment made Yulia smile, and the moment resonated with viewers who shared how similar words had lifted their spirits during pregnancy. Like Krissy’s experience, it was a reminder that taking a moment to say something nice can brighten someone’s day.
