Becoming a mom might be a big milestone moment for a woman. So it can also feel very overwhelming. At such a time, she could need all the support she can possibly get, especially from her partner. One new mom, Sierra Smith, was also feeling very overwhelmed postpartum. So her husband decided to send her a lengthy text message that made her feel loved and supported during the challenging time. Smith posted the letter on TikTok, where she goes by @sierra_smith25. The post received over 5.9 million views.

Smith had just started her postpartum period when she received the message and that made all the more difference. The message read, "I don't know where to begin because no words will ever be enough to describe what I feel for you now." He added, "Watching you bring our baby into this world was the most powerful and beautiful thing I’ve ever witnessed. You gave life to our child and in that moment, you gave me a whole new reason to love you deeper than I ever thought I could." He called his wife his "hero, heart and home." He acknowledged that the following days and nights would be difficult for them, there would be exhaustion, confusion and doubt. "Times when it feels very overwhelming."

"But I need you to know—you will never walk through any of it alone. I will be right there, holding your hand through every high and every low, celebrating every milestone and carrying you through the heavy moments when you are tired." The letter went on, "You have already given me more than I could ever repay; our beautiful child, a family and a love I never dreamed could feel this big." The man expressed that he was "endlessly" proud of his wife. "I admire your strength, your courage and the tenderness you have shown through all of this." He continued, "I see you, I cherish you and I love you with everything I have." The note ended with an expression of love for the family the couple had created.

"No matter how much love I have given you before today, just know that my heart has grown even bigger because now it holds not only you, but the family we have created together." Smith admitted that the note had her "sobbing." People applauded the man's kind gesture for his wife in the comments section of the post. @gabbaladina wrote, "My husband wrote me a note in my notes app when I went back for a C-section and I didn't see it until a few months postpartum in the middle of the night and I sobbed."

@renodabass commented, "When I tell you, honey, you are blessed...I have never been happier for a family I don't even know. This is beyond beautiful." @mooresmae1 remarked, "Reading that healed a part of my heart that I didn't know was broken. Thank you for sharing that with us! Congratulations on your baby and on picking the right man to have a baby with." Smith often shares glimpses of her life with her husband and baby on the platform. In one video, she shared a video of her husband holding their baby's carrier. Smith pointed out that she had waited for the moment for nine months.
