The young child had tried to remove it earlier but was unable to reach it.

A routine concern at home can sometimes lead to unexpected medical situations for parents. A mother posting as @thejoyofcurls shared an Instagram video on April 8, 2026, showing how worry over her daughter’s missing earring led to a hospital visit and scans that brought both relief and confusion. A scan first confirmed that one missing earring had been swallowed and was found in the child’s stomach, which eased one concern, but still left another question of the other missing earring that needed attention.

The relief did not last long as the mother later revealed there was more to the situation. While one earring was confirmed in the stomach through a scan, she discovered that the second one was not missing but had been placed in the child’s nose. The young child had tried to remove it earlier but was unable to reach it. Doctors also examined the nose but could not see anything at first, which made the situation more stressful for the family. Later scans showed the earring was lodged higher near the bridge of the nose, making it harder to detect and remove safely.

A simple view is that parents often try to stay calm while handling situations that feel overwhelming inside. The mother shared how she tried to stay composed while worrying deeply, saying it felt like she had to put on “a brave face while I prayed through every scenario in my head.” She also described how the child had to go without food for 8 hours, calling it “by far the worst part for her,” as they waited through tests and checks. The experience reflected her feeling that “This nightmare was not even on my radar,” as she tried to manage fear while keeping her child calm.

Later clips shared that a year after the incident, the child no longer remembered swallowing one earring or placing the other in her nose. The mother reflected on how overwhelming the day was and admitted, “I still can’t believe this happened,” as she looked back on how quickly things escalated. She also shared her frustration and humor in hindsight, asking, “Why do kids eat everything but food?”

While some scans reveal a child’s playfulness, others may help plan a special moment. That was the case in a recent story where a routine hospital visit turned into a life-changing memory for Anais Berman, a 27-year-old from Brooklyn. After slipping on black ice while walking home, she hurt her wrist and went in for an urgent check. Her boyfriend, Justin Wright, 31, arranged the appointment and stayed close, making it feel like a normal medical visit at first.

Berman expected a simple X-ray, but Wright had quietly planned something different with the medical team. He had picked out a 3.47-carat yellow diamond ring and worked with the staff before she arrived. During the scan, she was confused when extra attention was given, but that confusion soon turned into shock when the X-ray showed a ring placed on her finger. In that same moment, Wright knelt beside her and finally asked her to marry him. Berman later said, “It did not feel real. Justin pulled it off in the most amazing way.”
