Neighbor heard woman 'loudly ranting’ and sent a funny note—the response was beyond her expectations
Noisy neighbors are an experience many might have come across. It is frustrating to have the constant chaos or noise and our response would likely be a polite or not-so-polite warning to stop. A resident who goes by u/Expensive-Worker-9638 revealed that when they witnessed their neighbor being obnoxiously loud while ranting, they had a different approach. Using humor and a handwritten note, they politely mentioned the noise and were stunned at what followed. The noisy neighbor in question responded with a heartwarming gesture and the internet was hooked.
The resident mentioned that they returned from work and heard the woman “ranting loudly about the state of the world.” Everyone has their moments and phases where they just want to let it all out. Instead of getting agitated by the noise, the person decided to approach the situation differently. They exercised empathy and kindness towards the neighbor. They took a bottle of tequila and a handwritten note with a comforting message for the woman. It read, "Dear vocal neighbor, for your next well-justified rant session, please accept this Don Julio [tequila] as a microphone upgrade.”
Furthermore, they added blessing, understanding and wholesomeness in conclusion. “May your voice of reason carry even further (even if it's a little slurred). May your pillow always be cool, your wallet full, your life abundant. Cheers! Your neighbor in crime,” the note read. Wondering how the woman might respond to this, the resident was stunned to find a handwritten note and a gift with it. She did get the message about the noise and assured that she’d work on it — but in the most spectacular way. “I left some gifts just in case. Thank you for your kindness in these horrible times. I'm sorry if I was loud, we will make it through this!! – your vocal neighbor,” she wrote.
Along with the letter was a canned beverage and a few snacks. Without them realizing it, the person had initiated a beautiful relationship with their neighbor through the letter. They not only called out the problem but also offered light-hearted support through humor. Their kindness and unique approach to a common problem resulted in an adorable understanding that the internet is in awe of. In a comment, the person added that the woman’s response, in turn, uplifted them too. “She didn't know it, but I've been having a lot of bad ‘the world is ending’ days lately. A little kindness can go a long way in these trying times,” the comment read.
