The bond that pets share should never be ignored. Like every other relationship, they too have a close connection and can understand each other. The love and support they have for each other are also exemplary. Additionally, the pet sibling becomes nothing short of a family member and is looked out for by the other furry pal with much love and concern. A woman named Sarah McArdle revealed on Facebook how her boxer, Reggie, saved the life of his brother, a French bulldog, Yogi, when the duo were alone at home, per PEOPLE. Yogi suffered a sudden seizure, and the footage captured how the boxer quickly sprang to action.

Dogs can detect an illness even in fellow pets, according to Dogster. They can sense and sniff when another canine is feeling uncomfortable or anxious. When different chemicals are released from the body due to any illness or changes in behavior, it alerts fellow pet companions. Furthermore, dogs being empathetic and well-connected to those surrounding them can also play a vital role in helping them detect changes in other pets. In such cases, they can be trained to act astutely and help. If they notice distress in their fellow canine, they will be on alert and try to offer comfort, which is what Reggie did for Yogi.

McArdle mentioned that she left for work at noon and returned only in the evening after 6 p.m. When the dog owner looked at her camera with her two dogs left alone, she was stunned. “At 12:15, Yogi started having seizures and within the first hour, he had at least 10 grand mal,” she wrote. The French bulldog was having a seizure, after which he became unresponsive. He lay stiff with his paws straight and his body sideways on the ground. Reggie noticed him for a few seconds and quickly realized something was wrong. He tried to move him and figure out the problem, but Yogi was still unresponsive.

Reggie immediately learned that he needed to intervene and the dog tried his best to move Yogi around. He turned him, rolled him over, even grunted and let out short barks, as he tried to get a response from the dog. Using his paws and tongue, the boxer did his best to communicate with Yogi and get some movement. He persisted in his attempts for several seconds, pausing each time to look carefully for any movement or response. While the video did not reveal what happened finally, McArdle noted, "This video is just one example of how Reggie saved Yogi's life yesterday, and it's a testament to the profound impact that animals can have on each other's lives."

“I always went back and forth about getting another dog, with Yogi being so sick, but it's clear now that I made the best decision ever. It's a truly heartwarming moment that showcases the power of companionship and instinct,” she wrote. Kristi Julia wrote, “That's incredible! Reggie is the 'paw-fect' hero!” Barrie Rowe added, “Thank goodness Reggie was so alert! Way to go!” Stephanie Lynn Strate remarked, “This is incredible. I just watched it twice with tears in my eyes! Animals are simply amazing!”
