The way people treat others behind closed doors can reveal far more than the image they present in public. One woman named Krissy shared that a hurtful encounter during a night of casual drinking with friends changed her view of online bullying. The incident happened seven years earlier when she had gone back home for a week. She later discovered that a plus-size pageant contestant had mocked her appearance and secretly shared screenshots of her simply enjoying herself. Krissy recounted the experience in a TikTok video posted under the handle @krissy_baekd on February 1, 2026.

Krissy described herself as being a bigger woman at the time but said she was still confident and comfortable with who she was. One night, she was relaxing with her brother and two other people in a hotel before heading out. According to Krissy, the woman had secretly taken screenshots of her enjoying the evening and shared them in a group chat while making hurtful comments. She later revealed that the plus-size pageant contestant behind the incident had been removed from the competition because of her behavior. Pointing out the contradiction, she said the contestant was “an advocate of a plus-size woman, and she was out there doing the opposite.”

After her sister told her about the messages being shared, the TikTok user was able to see the conversations and understand what had been said about her. She found comments mocking her appearance, including remarks like, “Oh my God, look at her double chin.” She collected screenshots of the discussion and shared them on Facebook and Instagram. She also decided to meet the people involved and address the situation directly. Krissy later explained that she believed her self-confidence may have been one reason people tried to bring her down. She said she did not worry about strangers judging her from a distance, but she felt differently when people took time to privately mock her.

Sadly, many women are still targeted because of their weight. In another incident, a plus-size woman shared how a simple night out with friends turned into an uncomfortable experience. She was enjoying her time when a man approached her and asked for her number. At first, she was unsure about the interaction but decided to consider it after encouragement from her friends. However, the moment changed when she overheard his friend making a cruel comment about her appearance. The remark made her question the true reason behind the attention she received.

The woman explained that she had recently lost around 40 to 50 pounds and was feeling good about herself that day. Hearing the comment was upsetting because it changed what seemed like a normal conversation into something hurtful. She recalled the friend saying, “I told you, fat bi***s are easy,” which left her shocked. She also spoke about the challenges of dealing with unfair assumptions and how such experiences can affect a person's confidence.
