She expected her date to defend her at the bar when a stranger approached her — but his reaction made her leave with the other man
When you ask someone out on a date, respect is a non-negotiable. A TikTok user named Niani Jaxx, who goes by @shondarhimesstanaccount, shared a post on June 19, 2026, recalling a date that ended bizarrely. The woman accompanied the man to a club after they spontaneously decided to visit a club. When a stranger approached her while she was with her date, she expected him to stand up to the unknown person and defend her. To her surprise, he had a totally different reaction that left her disgusted. Seeing his response, she chose to take up the other man’s offer and leave with him.
Jaxx mentioned that her meetup went well, and her date then invited her to join him at a club where a birthday celebration was happening. Since it was an impromptu plan, he didn’t get a section and had to sit in the bar-top area. That was when another person approached the woman and said, “The wristband is what you need to get in.” She was shocked that he dared to come and ask her to join him while she was clearly with someone, and expected her date to tell him off. However, the man snatched the band from the other guy. “He stands up, and he's looking around, and goes, 'Which section is it?'” she recalled, clearly revealing that he was ready to leave her alone and go party by himself.
At that point, the stranger and the woman were both shocked at his reaction. She mentioned how she intended to decline the offer the second guy had made out of respect for her date. But before she could say anything, he showed his true colors by just grabbing the wristband that wasn’t even for him. The other man later took the band back from him and specifically addressed Jaxx before inviting her to the section. “I don’t even know what just happened. I’m so embarrassed,” she remarked. Eventually, she walked hand in hand with the new person.
First dates can be beautiful, but sometimes they also end bizarrely. In another instance, a woman matched with a local man on Hinge and quickly made plans to meet at a restaurant. He did everything perfectly — suggested a good place, offered to pick her up, etc. She politely declined the offer for the ride and decided to see him there directly. When she arrived, he had already had a few drinks. The evening went well, with him sharing how he wanted true love. He even insisted she order more, but she refused. On the other hand, he added quite a few items to the bill.
Eventually, the man excused himself to go to the restroom, but he didn’t return. The check arrived, and the woman was horrified, struggling to figure out whether she should wait or pay up and leave. Unfortunately, he had long ditched her, and she was left with the hefty bill. When the manager learned of the situation, he offered to let her pay for her own items only. Yet, the damage was done, and she was convinced she wouldn’t be dating via online apps again.
