That was exactly the case with one woman, who thought she was accompanying her boyfriend for an important work event, only to realize the occasion was none other than her wedding. In a TikTok video posted on December 18, 2025, which has crossed 9.1 million views, Mario (@mario_settles) shared how he surprised his girlfriend with not just a proposal but an entire wedding. According to the video, in 2024, he told his girlfriend that she needed to dress nicely for his investors' conference and that it was important for her to go with him. “There is no investor conference. He's proposing, and your wedding is right afterwards. Everyone is already there waiting for you,” the overlay text of the video hinted.
“In 2024, your boyfriend will ask you to dress nicely [sic] for his investors' conference he's been planning...,” the text read, as the story began to unfold. In the video, the woman was seen choosing an outfit, unaware of the fact that it was going to be her wedding dress. At no point did she suspect anything more than a formal investors' event. Moments later, Mario dropped to one knee and proposed to her. The unexpected proposal caught her completely off guard. The moment she processed the proposal, a bigger surprise came her way — they were getting married. The venue was prepared, families and friends were already present, and what she thought was going to be a conference turned out to be a wedding.
Overwhelmed by the realization, she broke down in tears, but from sheer happiness. At the end of the video, the couple was surrounded by their loved ones who had been waiting for their arrival at the venue. "That 1 time I surprised my girlfriend with a wedding,” the caption of the video revealed. The viewers were equally surprised by the idea of a "surprise wedding." Some of them found the idea to be scary, while others were astonished by his confidence that she would say "Yes." “But it was an investors' conference; he was investing in you,” commented @masijo88. @sammysyed0 said, “I don’t think she would have picked that dress for her wedding.” @aderayo_xo wrote, “Bro didn’t even give you time to change your mind.”
