The elderly person kept trying to figure out where they had met, asking whether they knew each other through past jobs, localities, or even through her daughter. The woman said she initially tried to brush off the conversation after realizing the individual's identity, but the repeated questions eventually left her with little choice. Finally, Lyn decided to answer honestly. Looking her in the eye, she said, "Yes, my ex-husband had cheated on me with your daughter." Not a word was said after that revelation, prompting her to jokingly ask readers, "Was I wrong?" Lyn later explained that it wasn't the first awkward encounter she'd had involving the same family.
Recalling another experience, she mentioned how she was picking up her son from preschool when his regular teacher introduced her to a new staff member. Lyn said she was stunned after realizing it was the same woman her son's father had allegedly had an affair with. The teacher reportedly quit afterward. The mom said that the experience likely explained why the elderly lady remembered her years later.
