Single dad was teaching his little daughter that boys and girls can love the same gender — his teen son's divorce joke left him in stitches
Kids have a way of turning the sweetest family moments into something nobody saw coming. Michael Carroll Quinton, a single dad who goes by @michael.quinton.395 on Facebook, was tying his little daughter's hair when she asked whether boys could love boys and girls could love girls. In the video he posted on July 30, 2025, he happily told her yes, but his teenage son, who had been listening in, had a very different question to throw into the conversation about the dad's marriage. The comment completely caught him off guard, and it quickly turned a wholesome parenting moment into a hilarious family roast.
In the video, which was a recording from their home camera, Quinton's daughter could be heard asking him, "Does boys like boys?" He told her that sometimes they did, and when she followed up by asking if girls could love girls, he said yes to that, too. His little girl replied, "That is awesome." Moved by her response, Quinton followed up with, "Love is love, right?" and she happily agreed. Throughout the wholesome conversation, his teenage son could be seen listening carefully from the kitchen. When there was a pause, the teenager jumped in with, "Isn't that the reason why you got a divorce?" The unexpected question left Quinton laughing as the conversation took a very different turn.

There's something lovely about the way Quinton handled his daughter's question without making it a big deal. He gave her a simple, accepting answer, and she took it in stride. While the dad-daughter conversation was wholesome, the son did not miss the chance to add some wit. His punchline timing was so perfect that it was hard not to laugh along with Quinton.

The viewers also loved how the sweet conversation with his daughter turned into an unexpected roast from his teenage son. Shelby Lee joked, “There was a moment of silence there where he debated saying it or not." Jessi Bliss also chimed in, writing, “Just standing there waiting to pounce. I have one like that. She's the roast master." Meanwhile, Danielle Niehaus had a question of her own, commenting, “Okay, so did Dad have a boyfriend, or did Mom find a new woman?"

Kids can be surprisingly quick-witted. In another story, a mom taught her daughter not to swear at classmates, even when they were being mean. So when a boy called her "the b-word," the little girl came back with, "Oh, that's a big word for Elmo." Her clever response left her mom speechless and laughing, much like Quinton's son's perfectly timed remark brought humor to an ordinary family moment.
