Son asks mom how he will 'get a girl' when he's older — her priceless response caught on Ring camera

Children ask questions out of the purest curiosity and their interest is beyond adorable. How we respond to them has quite an impact on their thought processes. A mom named Marina (@livinglavida_momhood) stumbled upon an old video of her son and her at their door, having the most unexpected and adorable conversation. As the duo was entering their home, the Ring camera captured him asking his mom when he would find love. His mom’s wholesome response has us in awe and hoping he finds just the right person when he grows up. With over 195,000 likes, many have taken a liking to the little boy’s innocence and his heartfelt wonder about love. 

Kerry Stutzman, a parentologist and family and marriage therapist, noted that kids learn a great deal about love from their parents. They often build an understanding of love by watching their parents’ relationships and might want to model the same, shaping their lookout for partners. This little boy supposedly got some understanding from his conversation with his mum. The video captured the mother-son duo conversing while entering their house. Continuing the conversation, the boy ever so innocently asked, “But how will I get a girl?”

He was so genuine about it and had no idea how the whole process worked. His curiosity and question caught the mom off guard, causing her to chuckle before she could say anything. “How do I get somebody to love?” he persisted in asking. The mom instantly replied, “Well, I love you!” However, the boy was not convinced by his mother’s answer. He thought she perhaps didn’t understand what he meant and explained that he was talking about finding love when he was a grown-up. Still taken aback by the question, the mom took on her loving and guiding approach and said, “When you grow up, you’re going to date people and you’re going to find somebody you love.”

She further explained that finding love meant finding someone “you think is beautiful, has the same morals, is similar to you.” His mom assured him that he would then fall in love. The little boy was still not convinced and had one dilemma in all pure honesty. “I’m shy with people I don’t know,” he said, looking up at his mum with a slight frown. Smiling to herself, the mom confidently assured him, “You’ll get to know her.” Little does the tiny tot know that love brings its own comfort, own memories, own excitement and so much more. His curiosity and perspective left people in awe. They cannot wait to see him fall in love when he’s all grown up.
