Teacher replied 'Boys will be boys' when 12-yr-old complained about bully touching her — so she took matters into her own hands

At times, even authority figures might defend a person's wrong actions in the most unreasonable ways. That might force someone to take the matter into their own hands and stand up for themselves instead. A similar thing happened with a 12-year-old girl when she had to deal with a boy bothering her and her teacher simply told her, "Boys will be boys." Eventually, the girl stood up for herself and made a strong statement. Her mom, Nicky, who goes by @nickyknackpaddywack on TikTok, took to the platform to ask people if she should take her daughter out for dinner or ice cream because she was content with her daughter's actions.

The mom got a call from her daughter's school and decided to share the incident with the internet. "So we have a running rule in our house. That if somebody puts their hands on her and they are the initiator, she's to go find an adult first," Nicky explained. This rule applies even if the girl is at school, at some other place or even with her mom. "If she's at school she's to go tell an adult first." The girl had a problem with a boy so she complained to her teacher. "And the teacher gave her the 'boys will be boys' talk," the mom pointed out. She highlighted that they "don't subscribe to that" in their family. Regardless, the girl did what she was supposed to do according to her mom, and went to her teacher.
"She went back, the little boy goes and touches her again," the mom shared. Now, she had told her kid that they were supposed to tell an adult but if the adults didn't do anything to remedy the situation and it happened again, she (the daughter) could "knock their teeth in." This could ensure that the bullying would not happen again. "Well, my kid did not do that. My kid just pushed the kid back, right? The kid got up and told my kid... I don't know what transpired as far as what he said to her," Nicky remarked. It was her daughter's response that she was focused on. "But her response to whatever he said was your mother must be so proud of you." The boy shouted back, "Don't talk about my Mama." The daughter replied, "F*** you and your Mama." Nicky said, "And that's what prompted them to call me."
"So should I take her out for ice cream or dinner tonight? I know it's a little cold for ice cream, but, you know, I think maybe Longhorn or something should do it, right?" the mom wondered at the end of the video. People took to the comments section of the clip to support the mom and the girl. @jenna01 wrote, "We call that my kids' 'ATM card': ask them to stop, tell an adult, make them stop. And the card never declines."

@hannahjo commented, "Growing up my mom said, 'As long as you don’t start it, you have my permission to finish it and I'll take care of the consequences.'" @holly remarked, "I raised two daughters this way. So many phone calls from school- one is now an engineer and the other is in journalism school. Here's to the tough girls and the tough mommas who raise them." @michele227 shared, "As a mom of boys, we don't subscribe to that phrase either because h*** no! She needs dinner and ice cream. Awesome job!"
