Children find unconventional ways to describe things, often leaving adults completely stunned. Kindergarten teacher Kaleigh Finch (@kaleighfinch__) experienced this after switching on National Geographic for her class and suddenly hearing her students screaming about something "making love." But when she rewound the scene, she was immediately relieved. Sharing the hilarious story with her Instagram followers on Friday, May 15, 2026, the teacher revealed how her heart dropped the moment she first heard the kids scream.

Finch panicked when she heard her students yelling, "They are making love." The kids informed her that it was the flamingos, but the scene had to be rewound. When she replayed it, she realized it showed two flamingos kissing and making a heart shape. "I was like 'No, they are just kissing,' and of course they thought that was way worse," the teacher quipped. The kids screaming "eww" at the flamingos kissing made her feel relieved. "I'm just thankful they were kissing and not doing something else," she noted.

Finch's video left internet users in stitches, and many shared their hilarious reactions to the video. @taylorstrycker recounted, "I put on a NatGeo for my kids about sea turtles hatching. So sweet. Right? Wrong. All the sea turtles were getting picked up by birds one by one and were dying." @amanitedescotanzer asked, "Genuine question, why do kids find adults loving one another gross—I understand if it’s like your parents, but the flamingos were probably cute." @everything.pink_18 joked, "Imagine them telling their parents after school that they saw a video of flamingos making love at school."

Kids often mean something completely harmless, even when their words make adults fear the worst for a moment. In another incident, a mother named Beth Moore was taken aback when she heard her son say something during bath time. Moore, who had stepped outside to get the towels after leaving her children in the bathtub, suddenly heard her son say that he was going to "baptize her," seemingly referring to his sister. Alarmed, Moore rushed back to the bathroom, but what she saw calmed her down. The little boy was repeatedly submerging his doll in the tub while pretending to baptize it. The incident left the mother relieved, but also ensured she would never leave her kids alone again.
