Milestone birthdays can mean the world to a person. So their loved ones might try to make their day as special as possible. A 15-year-old from Axtla de Terrazas had her quinceañera coming up. The girl, Isela Morales's, parents prepared everything for the special occasion and threw her a party. Unfortunately, people showed up to the event, much to the family's disappointment. They decided that it was not worth it to let all the food go to waste and the dad made an appeal on Facebook. However, the family was not expecting what followed, per Fátima Vázquez Digital.

The teen's dad, Ramón Morales, had posted a photo of his daughter in her beautiful birthday gown on the morning of June 9. The event had been organized at the family's home and everything was ready. Isela and her family were waiting for their guests to arrive for her 15th birthday party, but the venue remained mostly empty through the evening. The dad posted a video to show that a very few people had attended the party and appealed to everyone to come for the food, hoping it would not go to waste. The teen was disappointed at the turnout and the family was upset. But none of them had expected the amount of attention the clip received.

The internet decided that the teen needed a do-over and thousands of people joined forces to throw a grand party for Isela a few weeks later. The guest list kept on increasing and came up to 1500 people. Eventually, the celebration was held at a local stadium. Hundreds of people and local businesses decided to help the family and raised money to make the celebration possible. The do-over happened on August 23 and the event grew so big that the city council had to get involved to ensure that everything went smoothly. Music groups, photographers and other businesses offered their services for free to make the party a huge hit.

The municipal government also decided to offer scholarships to empower young people with the help of the event. A local news outlet, El Sol de San Luis, reported that the party was filled with music and also a surprise gift for the teen girl. 70 "godmothers" and "godfathers" took part in the planning to make the evening a huge success. Isela works as a garbage collector with her family to make ends meet and hopes to become a teacher one day, per Región Huasteca. "I began to sell fries and pallets on the river, but as there was a lot of competition. So we looked for a better option to earn money," the 15-year-old explained. That is when she stumbled upon the work and it has helped her pay for her studies to fulfill her dream.

Many people cheered the community's efforts in the comments section of an Instagram post by ABC News. @monmontw_ wrote, "What a beautiful story—turning a tough moment into an unforgettable celebration!" @_persiangirl_9898 commented, "I love her elegant pink gown and her pink crown. An elegant quinceañera fit for a princess. Beautiful girl." @louis.here.and.now remarked, "Main character energy right there! Definitely the star of her own life. With a little support from her dad and other cool humans."
