Weddings often hold small surprises, but this one became unforgettable for the bride. She stood at the altar, waiting for her non-Chinese-speaking fiancé to speak his vows, not knowing what to expect. The clip, shared by Instagram user @helennnwang, captured her bright smile and excited anticipation as the moment approached. Posted on October 5, 2025, the video shows her stunned and emotional as his words unfolded, leaving a mark she would never forget.

The video showed bride Helen Wang standing happily, her eyes bright and her smile wide as she watched her partner begin. Onscreen text read, “I didn’t expect this for his vow.” The groom started speaking, and his first words immediately caught her by surprise. "Last year," he spoke. Helen’s mouth opened in shock as the significance of what he said sank in. Text on screen explained, “As a non-Chinese speaker, he prepared his entire vow in my native language.” He continued, telling her that he had asked her parents for permission to marry her. At that moment, Helen became emotional, tears filling her eyes as the heartfelt meaning of his words fully hit her. The clip captured the rawness of her reaction, from stunned disbelief to overwhelmed joy, showing just how powerful a sincere vow could be.

In another heartwarming wedding moment that went viral, a groom similarly surprised his bride and her parents by delivering his vows in a language he had only recently learned to make them feel included. Groom Zachary Swain spent months learning American Sign Language so he could sign his vows to Hallie Kulick while reading them aloud. Her deaf parents, Paul and Gina, had no idea he was planning this, and their shock quickly turned to tears as the words unfolded.

"My parents were completely surprised when Zach signed his vows. It truly touched them. It showed them that he sees them, that he’s thinking of them — not just as my family, but as part of his now too." Hallie described the moment, saying, “Every word felt like it came straight from his heart. It wasn’t just romantic, it was personal and intentional.” The effort showed respect and love not only for Hallie but for her family as well. A video shared by the photographer also captured the emotional reactions, and both parents were overwhelmed when Zachary gifted them his ASL certificate at the ceremony.
