Fast food has always been the demand in the United States as it compliments the on-the-go lifestyle and is a go-to meal for many. However, as the name suggests, the cuisine doesn’t have many health benefits to offer. Many people have long been concerned by the fact that burgers and wraps contain frozen meats, veggies and other items that can’t account for hygiene or health. Popular fast-food chain, McDonald’s has tweaked this aspect a bit. The franchise has introduced an item on its menu that might just be the favorite, thanks to its freshness. The quarter-pound burgers on the McDonald’s menu have their meat cooked fresh rather than being made from frozen pre-ready items.

While the burger was introduced in 1971, there wasn’t much consistent demand, considering that the idea of frozen beef didn’t sit well with customers, per Food Republic. With over 3500 outlets following a new practice, these burgers are the only ones on the menu that have the beef freshly made into a delicious patty only after you’ve placed an order. It may mean a little more waiting but that juicy, delicious and fresh flavor is undoubtedly worth it all. This initiative was started in 2018 when the brand improvised on its techniques for a better and improved service. To give nothing but the best quality and food to their customers, the outlets will be making the patties after a customer has ordered.

McDonald’s USA President Chris Kempczinski noted that the change comes from careful consideration of customer feedback and is one of the most noteworthy changes to be made in the franchise’s marketing and service. “The switch to fresh beef quarter-pound burgers is the most significant change to our system and restaurant operations since All Day Breakfast. Over the past two years, we have been listening to our customers and evolving our business to build a better McDonald’s. We are proud to bring our customers a hotter and juicier quarter-pound burger at the speed and convenience they expect from us,” Kempczinski remarked.

With the different varieties- Quarter Pounder, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Double Quarter Pounder and Signature Crafted Recipe burgers, all fresh and 100% beef, it is among the top picks in burgers. Since customers were always game for fresh, hot and well-cooked burgers, the satisfaction and intent to purchase boosted up to a solid 90%. Now that the meat was fresh on the grill and into the burger, there was no reason to hold back from purchasing the delish beef delicacy. With over 50% increase in sales in the first month after the initiative, one can only imagine how far it has come over the years. The sales increase in the quarter pound burgers alone was said to be a solid 40 million, per Nation’s Restaurant News.

McDonald’s is immensely proud of making this move as it's a win for the customers and the brand. Additionally, the brand also came up with a Signature Crafted burger, which also had beef as a key ingredient and was also made freshly on ordering. Making delicious food as healthy, fresh and flavorful as possible is what all our hungry hearts are craving. If you want the freshest burger, you know what to pick!
