The YouTube Kids app has been increasingly popular among Gen Alpha children. It is deemed to be safer for toddlers, by limiting their access to children-friendly content. That's why, TikTok mother Ire (@ireesoprettyy) always made sure that her toddler's iPad had YouTube disabled, while letting him use the kids' version. However, she soon learned that her son had been accessing the adult version of the app without the built-in app itself. When her toddler showed her the clever trick he used, it blew her mind. Sharing the video with her TikTok followers on January 3, 2026, the mother revealed her shock at the elaborate process her son took to watch YouTube videos.

@ireesoprettyy He think he sooo slick 🤣 Im still stuck on the fact that he go thru all that just to get on YouTube , I had no clueeeee😂 #boymom ♬ original sound - ireesoprettyy

TikTok mother, Ire, had uninstalled YouTube from her toddler's iPad. However, she often found that despite disabling the app, with the device containing only YouTube Kids, her toddler still managed to access the app, which was meant for adults. Curious about how he was accessing it, she asked her toddler to demonstrate the process, and it left her shocked. In the video captured by Ire, the toddler first opens a video game called "Call of Duty" and is seen going through a series of tabs. After scrolling in the gaming app, he is guided to the option to view the game's YouTube video, which takes him to the browser version of the video-sharing app. The mother who watches her toddler go through the steps to access it is left speechless.

In the video, Ire expresses her amazement at how technologically savvy kids of this generation are, even before they can read or write. In the caption of the TikTok clip, the mother wrote, "He thinks he sooo slick. I'm still stuck on the fact that he went through all that just to get on YouTube. I had no clue." When she asks who taught him this, the little one simply laughs without giving a response. While we aren't quite sure how the kid picked up on finding the link, the mother truly appears astonished throughout the video.

Internet users who were equally shocked at his skills weren't quite sure if they had to feel amazed or intimidated by Gen Alpha toddlers. @Slluttz_ joked, "Have him scroll back to the bottom of the Call of Duty website and click on 'careers' sign him up." @Badlykemichael remarked, "He turned around when you said 'kids,' cause He know he ain't no baby. That man works for the CIA and is working undercover as a toddler. Because what in the Geek Squad Jr. is going on here ?!" @thatbetchjessica noted, "He goes through a 10-minute process just to NOT watch YouTube Kids?" Speaking from her own experience, @courttelle shared, "Girl, my son figured out how to get on YouTube through Pinterest. Where there’s a will, there’s a way."
