Two women found a way to contact their best friend 30 years after she suddenly ghosted them — her response in 2026 left them heartbroken again

A TikTok user named Aimee Johnson revealed that her mom had one such friend, Debbie, from the time she was in high school. In her post shared under her handle, @aimeeljohnsonn, on July 14, 2026, the woman explained how the friends had been through their teenage years and even adulthood until Debbie decided to suddenly ghost her. 30 years after trying everything to get in touch with her, the mom got her contact information. However, her once dear friend's response left her shattered.
From calling every day to having no contact for days, Johnson’s mom and her other close friend, Anne, were worried about Debbie. They even went to her apartment but saw nothing. Later, they learned that she had moved with her partner. She never stayed in touch or mentioned anything. The duo kept looking for her, trying to find ways to contact her. Johnson’s mom found Debbie’s sister through social media and finally got her number. She reached out to her 30 years later, hoping to meet and bring back their bond. However, the woman saw her message and ignored her. Days passed, and there was no reply, making it clear that she didn’t want to have anything to do with them.
The sudden change left the women shattered because they had no idea what went wrong. Johnson's mom and Debbie had been besties since high school. Being tight-knit, they used to meet often and call and text daily for years. Debbie became the maid of honor for her wedding, visited her after she gave birth to three kids, and they had an inseparable bond for decades. In between, Anne got close to them, forming an unbreakable trio.
Eventually, the friend started dating a much older man, leaving the other two worried for her. Anne and Johnson’s mom tried speaking to Debbie, telling her that her boyfriend seemed questionable. After that conversation, she never spoke to them. At first, they worried the boyfriend might have done something horrible to her. They persisted in their search even though they were busy with their own adult lives as parents. After years of searching, they learned that the woman simply decided to cut contact one random day with no explanation or reason. Johnson noted how her mom is still upset about it to this day.

She drove for 45 minutes after she offered to babysit her friend’s toddler. She cleaned up the messy place, fed the toddler yogurt along with her regular food, and took extra care.
The mom promised her $50, but for her, it was never about the money; she was just fulfilling her duty as a friend. Unfortunately, when the mom returned, she was livid because things had been reorganized and even claimed the yogurt was “missing.” She disrespected her friend’s work and even told her she wasn’t going to pay. Seeing her entitled and harsh attitude, the woman ended the friendship.
