Uber passenger heard their name in song the driver was playing but couldn't find it online — the track's title made chilling sense once they got home
Coincidences can seem flattering and impressive until there’s a catch. One passenger who goes by u/Sea-Rough3152 shared a terrifying experience in a post on Monday, October 12, 2026. They had just finished grocery shopping and booked an Uber to go home. When they got into the vehicle a little while later, they heard a song play that sounded very familiar. It felt like it was almost written about them. They brushed it off as a coincidence and decided to look for the song later. After a while, they made a connection about the song that left them horrified.

The person explained that as they heard the song, it felt like it was about them. Moreover, it seemed like their name was in the song. At first, it felt like a cool coincidence, and so they thought they might as well search for it. On searching, they found nothing. They even typed the song’s title, “Pink Bag Mondays,” but they couldn’t find anything even remotely close to what they’d heard in the Uber. It wasn’t until they got home that they realized, “My grocery bag was pink. And it was Monday.” While they were simply in the passenger seat reaching home, the driver created a song about them using AI without asking them. The explanation behind the experience was something that had never crossed their mind. At one point, when they couldn’t find any trace of the song, they thought it must have been created using AI. However, even then, they were certain it was random and couldn’t possibly be based on them.

While the passenger was freaked out, Redditors quickly explained what might have happened. Many suggested that it was a trending TikTok challenge, and that they had seen many make AI songs like that. However, they also argued that doing so without a person’s consent was unprofessional and dangerous. u/Starlight-glitter686 wrote, “This happened to me too, and I was mortified.” u/AvenSageAuthor added, “Please report this guy to Uber. It's a violation of privacy, unsafe driving behavior, and downright unethical.” u/draelogor suggested, “If you sense this is happening, say loudly, ‘I do not consent to being recorded,’ and record the interaction to share with Uber.”

It is important to be vigilant even while traveling in public spaces. Intentions behind suspicious and unusual actions are often unknown, so it is best to stay vigilant and report anything that seems off. Two women stood up for themselves after their Uber driver started behaving strangely. He first drove towards a parking garage, despite it not being part of their route. When they sensed something was wrong, they asked to be dropped off at a gas station, but he refused. He then took a wrong turn and convinced them that he was going to their destination. At last, when he marked the ride as complete despite being en route, the passengers didn’t want to take a chance. They coordinated and jumped out of the vehicle at a gas station. A security guard there confirmed their worst fears when he told them that this wasn’t the first time something like that had occurred.
