Vin Diesel's powerful response to trolls fat-shaming him over a holiday pic needs to be talked about more
Let Vin Diesel teach you how to handle trolls like a boss. The actor always sets fitness goals by swiftly changing his physique as per the requirements of his roles and scripts. But even that is not inspiring for some people who try to find flaws in everything. Case in point, Diesel was once holidaying and a photo of him in not his usually-ripped shape clicked by paparazzi got circulated on the internet. It immediately prompted trolls to fat-shame him. But the actor knew how to deal with haters online. He did not snap, nor did he issue a direct statement. He just responded to every negative comment about his body with a fitting reply. Earlier in 2015, when the actor was preparing for his role in “The Last Witch Hunter,” as “Kaulder,” he had gained some weight, per The Hollywood Reporter. When some people trolled him for the same, he knew he had to stand against it as a prime and confident example.
In a post shared by @BuzzFeedCeleb on X, the actor is seen strutting his belly and standing by a balcony. People were baffled upon seeing his physique and immediately decided to criticize him. Known for his otherwise fit and charming body, the actor received harsh remarks over his then-viral photo. Diesel explained that he was not affected by the insults and heartless comments. He revealed in an interview with ABC News that it was his role in “The Last Witch Hunter” that had him looking the way he did. Diesel mentioned that his role required him to be more on the weightier and obese side, with a more hefty physique.

“The director kept saying, you know, there’s no Gold’s Gym in the 13th century,” said Diesel. As a determined trained, skilled actor, he was just working towards the requirements. He added that he “didn’t care” about the comments, especially given his health and the discipline he’s committed to since his decades. “I’m not trying to be in super shape all the time. I’m trying to master my craft of making films,” the “Fast and Furious" actor remarked. However, he wanted to address the idea of body shaming and silence the reckless people on the internet.
“I do think it’s wrong to body shame,” he continued. “Trolls on the internet — there are all kinds of atrocities they commit on the internet,” he noted. To take them down, the actor shared a picture on Instagram. In one post, he wrote about contemplating his response. “It is amazing the response from the journalists whom I have been talking to for the last two days in New York. Today, one wanted to see the dad bod. I am wondering if I should show the picture... Body-shaming is always wrong!” he wrote.

In another post, he finally did reveal his body, unapologetically. Diesel is seen holding up his t-shirt to reveal his unique abs and a healthy and groomed body in a confident stance. “For those who wanted the show... For all the angels that love dad bod regardless,” he wrote. Several fans supported him, encouraging him to be himself and his thing as he does best. To the real ones, his work and personality were everything and his holiday photo didn’t change the love they had for him. @rachee_lopez wrote, “Very nice picture! Keep them coming.” @ughz_ added, “I don't care about dad bod... I just love you.”
