Wife has sassy response to haters who say her relationship with 'physically fit' husband 'doesn't make sense'
True love doesn’t look at appearance and finds the most delicate and intricate qualities to cling to. However, some people still won't let go of toxic beauty standards. When Alicia Mccarvell (@aliciamccarvell) posted a transition video with her husband on TikTok, as well as Instagram, she was subjected to trolling and hate comments because of her weight. Mccarvell has a different physique from her tall and toned husband. The couple is happy together but haters online think their relationship "doesn't make sense" because of the difference in their physical appearances. However, Mccarvell clapped back to the mean comments with a savage response and highlighted that unrealistic trash body standards are negatively impacting society.
She started the video by showing how many people reacted to their transition video and body-shamed her. A majority of people couldn’t wrap their heads around the idea that she found a good-looking and fit husband. Their stereotypical mindset pointed out that she deserved a plump or average-looking man because of her appearance.

Addressing people’s snobby and nasty outlook, Mccarvell shared her opinion. “We all know why this video went viral. It’s because of the beauty standards. We don’t make sense. The world looks at us and immediately values Scott more,” she remarked. The woman explained how appalling it is that, despite many couples doing the transition trend, hers was singled out simply because of the physical differences between her and her husband.
She further explained how people try to “add up” and justify a man being with her despite her weight and appearance. “People added things up like, ‘Oh, she must not have been fat when they met,’ or, ‘Oh, she must be rich,’ or, ‘Oh he must be gay,’” she recalled. “We’ve been made to believe that somebody who is physically fit like Scott could never in a million years be in love with or compatible with a fat woman,” she pointed out.

She astonishingly revealed that a woman on the internet even contacted her husband and told him “he should be with someone like me.” Mccarvell made a strong case for true love and explained that she’s not fazed by people hitting on her husband. “On the scale of what my husband values, how well my body fits into the beauty standards is not at the top of the list,” she said.

She added that he looks at her "work ethic, her humor, her heart" and several other elements that go beyond her physique and appearance. “I know that people’s values don’t lie in how well they fit into society’s trash beauty standards. If this is a concept you’ve been taught, it is your responsibility to unlearn it,” she concluded. Several people appreciated the woman’s confidence and approach to the negativity.
@beautifulcrazy_carebear exclaimed, “You’re beautiful inside and out. It doesn't matter what your size is. You both look amazing together and I look up to you!” @sasshole_since_birth wrote, “I love how dignified your responses are.” @blackwoodmusic added, “People are so superficial. You are blessed and lucky to have an amazing partner and he is lucky to have you!” @heatherhearts4 said, “The way he looks are you says that he is totally in love with you. People are mean, you two look perfect together!”
