Waitress told a customer she loved purses but had just one — hours later, the woman returned with a bag, but what she hid inside one purse meant more
Apart from the small talk between servers and customers, some conversations can truly leave a mark. A waitress named Madisun Oliver, who goes by @Madisunoliver00 on Facebook, shared a post on Monday, October 12, 2026, recounting how she chanced upon such an interaction with a diner. While chatting, the duo discussed the recent yard sales taking place and then spoke about purses. Oliver told her that she had only recently developed an interest in purses and wanted to visit the sale. She even mentioned that she had only one purse so far. The customer said she would be back, and after a few hours, she returned with a bag containing something extra special.
The customer handed over the bag filled with purses to the waitress. She told her she had left something in one of the purses and asked her not to leave it around. When she got time, Oliver went to have a look and found a handwritten note along with some money in it. The note read, “You are a beautiful mother and a great waitress. You just shine on; God is watching over you and your children.” The waitress was stunned by the surprise. Not only did she receive multiple purses, but she also received blessings and well wishes from a stranger who had a big heart.

“It brightened my day. I love being a waitress,” Oliver remarked. Just a simple interaction during a routine workday allowed them to bless each other through their words and actions. It can be that simple to reach out to another. In another heartwarming instance, the tip offered at a diner led to a memorable interaction. The mom named Jenny enjoyed the service at Olive Garden and decided to give the server a 20% tip. After receiving it, the man was moved. He returned to the table thrice, thanking the diner for their generosity each time. When he came the third time, he brought his phone with him and showed the mom the screensaver of his daughter. He said, "Everything that you just did goes to her."

Jenny was moved by how appreciative he was of what seemed like a very simple tip to her. Even as she left the restaurant, she could only imagine how she had offered the gratuity because she loved the service, but to the waiter, it felt like kindness and compassion. For him to walk to her table, not once but three times, only to express how overwhelmed by gratitude he was, spoke volumes about how much that tip mattered. What started as a simple dining experience turned into a pleasant and profound one by the end of the night.
