Walmart shopper terrified of stalker asks stranger to pretend to be her husband—he nails every part of the role

At the spur of the moment, when you find yourself in potential danger and in need to act, there is only hope that someone will come to your rescue and help. A woman named Julie (@jewel35_85) recalled an experience she had at a Walmart where she had only moments to act. A creepy man had been following her at the store and when she couldn’t take it, she approached a stranger with an unusual request to pretend to be her husband. His response was beyond positive and his courteous actions have become a relief to many out there.

“I just want to say thank you to the man named John that I walked up to in Walmart,” Julie remarked in her TikTok clip. She then revealed that a man had been pestering her at the store. Despite trying to avoid him, the man was repeatedly following her, coming oddly close behind her, staring at her and even peeking through her shoulders. After it became intensely uncomfortable, Julie immediately knew she had to get help, no matter who or how. That’s when she spotted John and rushed to him. In an open note of gratitude, she said, “I grabbed your arm and told you to act like you were my husband because there was a strange guy following me.”

The man immediately agreed and got into the role without skipping a beat. He didn’t just stand there and wait for things to cool off but took responsibility. “He turned around and looked at that guy and asked him, ‘What the f**k was he following?’” the woman recalled. The creep was immediately taken aback and didn’t know how to respond. He said, “Oh, nothing, nothing,” and hesitatingly walked away as fast as he could. Julie was blown away by the John's thoughtful attitude and the perfect timing. When she asked him why he bothered, he had the most beautiful reply. “Well, if I’m your husband, I have to defend you,” he told her.

John justified that since he was playing the role of a husband, it was his duty to find out why someone was causing distress to her. “I was just playing the part that you asked me to play,” he remarked. Completely in awe of his chivalry and kindness, the woman exclaimed, “Nicest man.” John proceeded to safely get the woman to the cashier. He also explained that he was a married man and was delighted to share the incident with his wife at home. Fueled by the kindness of the stranger, Julie was able to share a positive reminder to all women for future reference — “If there’s a weird guy following you around the store, walk up to any man and say, ‘There’s a weird guy following me. Can you act like my husband?'”

Her experience assured her that they would never “say no.” “Ladies, there are good men out there. Anytime you don’t feel safe, get safe,” Julie said. People were grateful for this moment of humanity. @ladyaries said, “Thank you to all the men who are willing to be protective of us women on a moment’s notice.” @brindlady added, “John understood the assignment.” @ron58263 noted, “Any real man would do the same thing and a woman out there who was feeling threatened.”
