"Husband told me that my father-in-law (FIL) dropped off some Easter gifts. I was expecting flowers, a card or chocolate. Instead, I got…" her post's caption read. The woman posted the photo of a "Ginger" doll inspired by English singer and the leader of the band "Spice Girls," Geri Halliwell, also known as Ginger Spice. Her husband told his father that Ginger was her favorite as a kid, sometimes during the five years they had been together. It was also "the only doll I didn't get because it was always sold out." The wife was pretty sure that she had only mentioned the story once and was even unsure when she did that. "I cannot believe he held onto those details all this time."

The woman also shared the heartwarming story of how she met her husband during her hard times after people praised him in the comments. "He found me in the middle of my cancer journey - a carpenter at the hospital I got chemo at in the middle of COVID." She added, "When I had my mastectomy, we had only been on 2 dates and kissed once, but he was the only person to show up at my hospital room and took care of me like we had been together for years." The couple has been inseparable since that time. People shared their thoughts on the heartwarming relationship the family shares in the comments.

I work with somebody who remembers the smallest details about stories I tell him, and I really think that is the most special quality I've found in a person so far in this life. Cherish that. They're paying attention, and that is so rare in this world. I love this for you so much." u/pajamakitten shared, "I'm that guy and always hold back because I am worried that it comes off as creepy for remembering the smallest details about people's lives." u/whyyoutwofour remarked, "My wife had the same one and held onto it for 30 years for our eventual daughter...the first time she played with it the head broke off and is to aged to get it back on properly....so we still have a decapitated Gerri Halliwell in our toy box."

u/jboucs commented, "My now husband kept a notes app and noted about me from the moment we met. It had my favorite color, flower, date, book and even average temperature (I run cold). He even put my birthday as well as my parents' birthdays in his charge because he knew I struggled to remember them...I found the whole thing unbelievably sweet and endearing. We've been together 15 years and married 13 with 2 kiddos now." u/desert_nole expressed, "The Ginger doll was the hardest to find. I'll never forget when my mom got me one for Christmas so I could finally complete my set. To this day, it's my favorite gift ever...along with my green Razor scooter."
