Many viewers joked that the dog has better survival instincts than most humans, including one saying, "You better put the dog as your emergency contact."

A dog's instincts can be truly remarkable, especially in moments of crisis. In one such case, a service dog's almost unbelievable level of awareness and quick thinking got him a lot of praise online. TikTok user Jaime Simpson (@embracingecho), who documents life with her two service dogs, Echo and Everest, shared a video where Echo, her Border Collie service dog, saved her house from almost burning into flames. She captioned the video, "Watch me almost burn my [parents’] house to the ground."

The video starts with Simpson in the kitchen, standing over the stove as she cooks. But within seconds, smoke billows out from the pot and transforms into flames. "Oh, my gosh!" she repeats frantically. That’s when Echo immediately springs into action. Without hesitation, the dog runs off to retrieve a water bowl. Simpson quickly takes the bowl and throws it onto the flames. She tells Echo "thank you" before grabbing a pan to fully smother the fire. But Echo isn’t done yet. Determined to help, the heroic pup opens the fridge and pulls out a water bottle. Simpson praises her dog, saying, "You're so smart, Echo!" The clip has taken TikTok by storm, with viewers blown away by Echo’s quick response and flawless execution under pressure.

@zamaldita quipped, "Girl, you better put the dog as your emergency contact." @k_t86xx joked, "What in the firefighting Paw Patrol did I just witness??" @dewdropprime asked, "How does the dog have better survival skills?" @magaa_rivera pointed out, "I’m convinced this has happened more than once since the dog knows what to do." @titashella_b.b commented, "The dog was like, 'get it together girl, I might end up homeless' hahahaha." @stefandeep said, "The way the dog sprinted to get the bowl and then water... It knew exactly what to do." @therealkneeeech shared, "Pretty sure that dog would survive anything at this point. I mean, he gave you his bowl as tribute to try to help put out the fire. Service boy is good boy and dedicated."

Some even pointed out that water is not the best way to put out the fire. @kaylakjay suggested, "The amount of people saying add water are concerning. PSA: Never add water to an oil fire. You WILL burn your face off. Starve the fire of oxygen. Do this, or if it has a handle, put it in the oven." @diehly.o added, "I'm glad I'm not the only one. I was screaming 'NO WATER' at the phone like she could hear me." Incidents like these show how dogs' senses work sometimes. In another incredible story, a Florida family’s agonizing nine-day search for their missing dog ended in a Christmas Eve miracle when the pup found her way home and rang the doorbell herself.

Athena, a 4-year-old German Shepherd and Husky mix, disappeared on December 15 from her home in Green Cove Springs, leaving her family desperate to find her. Despite multiple sightings from neighbors, security footage, and social media posts, she always seemed to disappear before they could reach her. Her owner, Brooke Comer, spent days chasing leads and fearing the worst. Then, at 2:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve, Comer was awakened by the sound of barking—followed by the doorbell ringing. Checking her phone, she saw that Athena had returned home and was jumping at the door, ringing the bell. "She was the hide-and-seek all-time grand champion," said Comer.

@embracingecho I swear I don’t remember standing there so long staring at it smoking 😂 #HeroicPup #FireRescue #BraveGirl #ServiceDog #FamilyFirst ♬ original sound - missmiscellaneous
