Woman eager to find her childhood friend asked strangers on TikTok for help — two days later, an update blew her mind
Over the years, we often lose touch with our closest friends, and it’s a unique loss that can be worked on. A woman who goes by @thatonetime99 on TikTok revealed that she wanted to reconnect with a friend, Casey, whom she had known since she was 4 or 5 years old. The woman didn’t have much information to share except for a picture. She used the picture to ask TikTok to help spread the word and find her friend's whereabouts. She was not prepared for the overwhelming support and hope she received from users, which ultimately led to unbelievable news.

However, many would be acquainted with the idea of having lost touch with the closest of friends due to several reasons. According to the American Psychological Association, reaching out to friends and checking in on them is more crucial and appreciated than one might think. Though many believe it might be awkward to reach out after a long period, this woman wanted to try her luck. Unfortunately, it had been over a decade or two since she last connected with Casey. All she had was a picture from when they were little girls. She shared it on TikTok and said, “TikTok, do your thing.”
The woman also shared whatever details she remembered in her caption to keep the search as accurate as possible. “We lived in the trailer park in the very early 90s in Kutztown, Pennsylvania,” she wrote. It was also added that she has no other details apart from the picture and the fact that they used to play together. The woman extended her request to users to help find or trace Casey’s whereabouts. “I hope she is doing okay, please help me find her. She is the very first friend I ever had,” she added. The post received a supportive engagement of over 11,000 likes and hundreds of comments.
People were kind enough to push the message out there as much as they could. Several people began their own search on the internet, asking all kinds of follow-up questions. Many even commented sharing the information of different Casey’s they knew or found that matched the friend’s description. Finally, the moment the woman had been waiting for arrived. In her very own post, replying with a comment, “the” Casey showed up. With the identity as @caseyfrasca6, the woman wrote, “Hi, it’s me, Casey! So weird, I have thought of you recently too!” What followed was a thread of catching up in comments to make sure it was the same person.
“Is it you! I didn’t think this would work. Do you really remember me? This is unbelievable." To this, Casey responded by sharing a memory the duo created together. She mentioned how they would play together and had been ice-skating one night and even hit their heads that night. There was no more doubt — it was her long-lost friend indeed. The duo continued their conversation and left the internet with wholesome smiles.
