She dumped a rude influencer for making three videos about their first date — nothing prepared her for the one comment that crossed the line

Besides the comment, she also revealed other things that made her feel they were incompatible.

Dates can be beautiful, but sometimes scary too. A woman went on a date with someone, unaware that they were “an influencer.” Sharing her story on TikTok on November 14, 2025, Perla (@wydperla), a set dresser, explained that she was left uncomfortable after the person made multiple TikTok videos about her. The influencer even captured the scene where Perla called things off. What crossed the final line was the influencer's comment section, which speculated that they were moving in together, and the influencer replied, 'I hope soon,' when they had met just once.

@wydperla This is what happens when you be using dating apps and giving anybody a chance. This generation is cooked, I think my wife is already married with somebody else and I’m in hell. #nyc #wlw #datingstorytime #imoverit ♬ original sound - Perla

According to Perla, things escalated after just one date. “At first I didn't really...whenever we started texting, I didn't know they were an influencer. They just told me that they make videos,” she shared. The influencer had made at least three TikToks about Perla and blocked her. One video was posted before the date, another was about the date, and a third focused on their breakup.

Perla, who works in trades, revealed that she had planned a low-key but practical first date as she offered to help the influencer assemble her furniture for their new apartment. “She's been telling me over and over again that she needed some things built, like a vanity set, and her bed frame, and that's light work for me,” she explained, believing that this would allow them to spend some time together. But soon she realized that they weren’t compatible. “I felt like I was talking to a TikTok character the whole time. It was just really odd,” she said.

Perla further revealed that she started feeling uneasy with the way the influencer was treating others during the date. She wasn't kind to others and “didn't have basic manners.” Another issue struck when Perla saw the comments of the people on the video the influencer had shared after their date. “People in the comment after day one, they were like, 'Oh my god, you found the love of your life, you guys are getting married, when are you guys moving in together?'” she said, explaining that the influencer seemed to encourage that speculation by replying, "I hope soon, I do believe this is the one". The whole situation eventually pushed her to end things completely. “I'm never going out with anybody from this app again,” she admitted.

The video has since gained several reactions, with viewers guessing who the influencer is. “You dodged a bullet. The right person will appreciate you,” wrote @shemakesmego. “All of this from one interaction is so wild,” said @aziza.dearra. @lookatthiswitch commented, “That’s why I swiped left on anyone mentioning being an influencer or comedian. No, thank you.”
