Dealing with creeps can be scary, but quick and genius thinking can teach them a lesson at the right time. A Threads user who goes by the username (@peach_pii) realized that someone had been peeping through a hole in her bathroom wall. Though she had no idea who it was, she immediately felt unsafe and tried to find ways to cover it, but in vain. A few weeks later, she got the brilliant idea to use a household cleaner, and it exposed the culprit. Sharing the story on Thursday, May 7, 2026, the woman revealed how her random hack pushed the unexpected culprit to regret his decision instantly.

The resident had experienced a harrowing incident 15 years ago, which left her feeling unsafe. She noticed that someone had been peeping through a hole in her bathroom. To find out if it was a deliberate move by someone, she covered the hole with a photo. But she soon saw another hole that she had never noticed before. After covering that one with caulk, she noticed a third hole had appeared, which also left a few drywall dust particles on the floor. She realized that someone had been drilling a hole in her absence, and that it was deliberate. When other methods failed, she decided to spray Tilex into the hole. Surprisingly, she found her landlord wearing an eyepatch three weeks later, proving he was the culprit all along.

Voyeurism, or the act of indecently observing and keeping an eye on someone, has been deemed a criminal offense in multiple countries. According to a research study published in PubMed, 17 incarcerated men with a conviction of voyeurism were questioned, in which their cognitive, behavioral, and contextual factors were analyzed. "Many individuals on this pathway had an associated inappropriate sexual interest," the study noted. While people wondered how she sprayed at the right time into his eyes, the user revealed the smart move she made. According to her comment, when the second hole appeared, she showered in the dark, hoping to catch a shadow. When the third hole was made, she simply turned on the shower and waited for the shadow to give her a hint. Her quick thinking helped her aim at the culprit's eye, thus teaching him a lesson he'll never forget

Soon after the post gained attention, many users showcased their support for the woman's response. Others even condemned the indecent act displayed by the landlord, while heaping praise on the woman for her quick thinking. @loopdeyloo wrote, "As someone who accidentally got Tilex in my eye when cleaning my shower stall, I just want to say good job because that shit burns. He had it coming." @vbseapainter shared, "This happened to my daughter. She found sawdust on her counter, found the tiny hole in the ceiling, and then found the camera. Bathroom too." @01explorer said, "The situation is not funny, but the use of Tilex is. Gets even funnier thinking about him needing an eye patch, probably forever."
