Woman suspected she was secretly filmed at the airport — when she later ended up behind the stranger, she taught her a lesson without a word
The decision to film someone should take their right to privacy into account. One woman was at the airport after visiting her aunt abroad and was waiting for the rest of her family to return from the bathroom. She noticed another passenger pointing her phone in her direction. Suspecting she was being secretly filmed, she covered her face with her passport. But she wasn't going to let the incident slide. The woman, who goes by u/PappaNee on Reddit, shared a post on October 31, 2026, explaining how she got back at the stranger with a little dose of her own medicine.
Got filmed at the airport, so later on i pretended to film them as well

The woman noticed a stranger sitting across from her holding up her phone and pointing it straight at her for a "really long time." It felt like she was being recorded, so she covered her face with her passport. She became even more suspicious when the stranger stopped filming as soon as she got up and turned away. Feeling uncomfortable but unsure how to confront the stranger without proof, she moved to sit somewhere else with her family. But she soon got a chance to turn the tables. She noticed the stranger standing in front of her and decided to point her phone in her direction. Although she was only watching videos and not recording, the stranger apparently noticed and started "shrinking."

The stranger had no way of knowing that she was only watching funny videos. She started staring awkwardly at her and seemed to become uncomfortable. The woman found it amusing how quickly the situation changed once the stranger thought she was the one being filmed. She later admitted that the whole thing was a petty move, but it felt good to make her experience the same discomfort. She also wondered why some people think it's perfectly fine to record strangers without their permission, only to feel uncomfortable when someone does the same to them.

Other people in the comments section found the little act of payback pretty funny and joined in with their reactions. u/boneykneecaps joked, "Someone needs to make up a QR code that downloads a virus on the videographer's phone." u/AtomicCitron76 commented, "I wonder why she was filming you? We may never find out." u/ramierae added, "Good job feeding her paranoia."

This is not the first time a stranger has tried to secretly record someone. In another story, a woman caught a stranger secretly taking pictures of her and her friend inside an elevator. Her other friend, Sarah Sweeten, didn't let it slide. She confronted the man, demanded to see the photos, and asked him to delete them. He initially got defensive, insisting he wasn't a "creep," but eventually admitted what he had done and apologized. Both stories show why it's important to speak up when someone crosses a boundary and make them realize that their behavior is not okay.
