Woman took herself on a solo beach date — one thing she noticed about the women around her left her deeply moved
Going to the beach alone might seem like a small thing, but for many women, it can feel like a big step toward independence and learning to enjoy their own company. When TikTok creator Julie B, who goes by @juliiie_beee, spent a day by the ocean on her own, she saw something that made her feel unexpectedly connected to the women around her. On August 29, 2026, she shared that while she was sitting alone at the beach, she looked at the women around her and noticed one detail that made the experience feel especially meaningful.

Julie shared a clip of herself sitting alone and then showed the women scattered across the beach. Julie explained that she had gone to the beach by herself, and she began noticing the women sitting around her. They were there on their own, too, enjoying the ocean without waiting for friends or partners to join them. She said, "And I think there's something beautiful in that." Seeing so many women happily spending time alone made her solo outing feel less lonely and more empowering. It was a quiet reminder that women can claim space for themselves, leaving their everyday worries behind. To Julie, what could have felt like a lonely day suddenly felt like a shared experience.

For women, going out alone can be a powerful step toward independence, but safety concerns can sometimes make even a simple beach trip feel daunting. Seeing so many other women enjoying the day on their own gave Julie a comforting sense of connection. It reminded her it was okay to take a break and enjoy life on their own terms. It was a small but powerful moment of girl power, showing how reassuring it can feel to be surrounded by women who are doing the same.

So many viewers found Julie's little moment wholesome. It also connected to the women who wanted to enjoy their own company but still needed a little push to take that first step. @emilymishel admitted, "Ugh, I need to get the courage to do this." Others shared how special a day by the ocean could be. @jacqattack01 wrote, “My mother always said sitting at the ocean healed her,” while @mylunawellness, who identified herself as an ocean therapist, added, "This makes my heart happy! A solo beach day is everything to recharge!"

Even among strangers, women can find ways to make one another feel seen, understood, and less alone. For one woman, that desire for connection led to something much bigger than she ever expected. Laura Cooper, 42, had moved to a new town in England and was feeling lonely without her old friends nearby. In 2024, she posted on Facebook looking to make new friends, and within an hour, women began reaching out. Soon, nearly 100 women had connected with her, and the response led to the creation of the Scunthorpe Lovely Ladies Group. The group brought women aged 16 to 75 together for meetups and even a Christmas party attended by around 70 people.
