That’s what happened to Nthabi, who posts on Instagram as @healthy_black_girl, when she was rushing to catch an international flight after a race. She posted a video on September 20, 2026, where she is seen running and struggling to catch her flight. She said she was dealing with her bags, race bib, and medal while navigating blocked roads; she was already panicking when a stranger noticed her and decided to help. What he did next left her feeling like she had met a real-life guardian angel.
Nthabi said the chaos began as she navigated a crowd of runners and blocked roads to reach the train station, carrying her bags, race bib, and medal while fearing she’d miss her flight. A woman with a dog first noticed her struggle and helped her find a way through. At the station, another stranger saw her panic and offered to travel with her to the airport, even though it was out of his way. Once there, he grabbed her bags and ran with her to get her checked in. "We sprinted," Nthabi said, adding that he was "sooo fast" and she was fighting for her life, trying to breathe. They made it in time, and the experience ended with a hug that left her deeply moved.
After making it to her flight, Nthabi highlighted how many small acts of kindness came together to get her there. She said the experience felt like being helped by "an angel," especially because the stranger went out of his way simply to keep her calm and make sure she made it on time. The hug they shared at the end made the moment even more emotional for her. She later shared that the experience reminded her that kindness can come from complete strangers when you least expect it. "Some days, God really sends you exactly who you need, exactly when you need them," she wrote in her caption, saying that the moment moved her deeply.
Nthabi also thanked the man for stepping in when she was overwhelmed, saying she hoped he would receive "everything good in this life." Her followers were equally touched by the encounter. The video also actually made it to the man who helped her. He wrote, @tmidtboell told her, "Glad you made it.
