Woman's 6-word response to creepy stranger catcalling her in the streets leaves him 'confused' and speechless
Even though we have developed as a society, women still have to deal with catcalling and creepy encounters with strangers in the street. In such cases, the victim often feels helpless and disgusted and tries to escape the situation as quickly as possible. However, a woman, Brydie Monaghan, shared a genius response she gave to a creepy man who was catcalling her as she was passing by. The woman gave an immediate six-word perfect response before the man could comment anything further and he was too baffled to even remain around her.
Monaghan recalled an instance when she was walking on the road and came across a suspicious person. While she minded her business, the man, who was with a dog, seemed strange. She poignantly noticed him “looking her up and down,” after which he immediately passed a comment. He remarked, “Hello!” in a sultry and absurd fashion. The woman could tell from his tone and stature that he meant harm and his intentions were questionable. After his comment, he even tried to start a conversation with her. As soon as he made the remark, Monaghan responded, “I’m sorry, I don’t have change.”
The creep was baffled and definitely didn’t see that one coming. "He looked so confused and then so angry, and I just carried on walking," she said. She recalled this genius response from a man, Kyle Prue, who has an account dedicated to such remarks and hysterical comments for unruly people. Monaghan remembered him using this phrase in one of his videos and quickly used it to get out of an awkward situation without feeling absurd.
Prue himself commented on the video, applauding the woman for her witty and astute reaction. “Well done, no notes.” he wrote. Others too, praised Monaghan for her smart thinking and confirmed that such creeps need to be dealt with an ingenious approach. @aepper4211 remarked, “Girl, same! I told a guy I didn’t carry cash and he got instantly pissed.” @katira_moon pointed out, “The best part is he’s never going to forget this. Either he’s going to tell everyone he knows or he isn’t going to get a solitary soul.” @theestickfigure added, “He’s going to think about that all week.”
Many women even shared instances they encountered with creeps and how they tackled it with similar moves. @chamoy wrote, “At work, I just say, ‘I’m sorry, it’s their first day,’ and the anger on them is real.” @ruskrewed521 added, “‘You have the confidence of a much taller man,’ is also a good one I eventually plan to use.” @lifeafterparasocial shared, “My favorite one I like to use is, ‘You seem to have a lot of feelings right now, were you a leash kid?’ They don’t like it.” @viridianforestcollective remarked, “My friend likes to tell such men they look like they can’t swim.
