Young widow feared no man could honor her late husband — until her new boyfriend’s gesture with a photo on the wall moved her deeply
Losing a partner can be really hard on a person. Especially as they might have to move on at some point and keep living their lives. A woman was also devastated as she lost her husband at a young age. She hadn't thought that she would find a partner who would honor her late husband's memory. But when she saw her partner putting up something on the wall of their new house, she was touched. The woman, Kass, who goes by @kassskyler on TikTok, shared the moment with the platform. The video received over 2.3 million views.
"Hey, young widows, one day you will find a man who will honor your late husband with you," the text overlay of the video read. The man could be seen marking and measuring a wooden plank that he put up on the wall. It was meant to carry a photograph of the woman's late husband. The man even blew a kiss to the frame and smiled at the woman. The couple had recently moved into a new house. In the caption, the woman explained, "Hanging a picture of my late husband in our new home." She went on, "I remember thinking that it would be impossible for anyone my age to ever understand this balance of grief and love. Accept nothing less. There is hope."
In another comment, the creator mentioned, "The difference is, I’m still and always will be in love with my late husband and he accepts that, too." The video received over 285,500 likes and 1,161 comments. People in the comments section of the video were really impressed by what the man did for his partner. Others also shared similar experiences they have had with people in their lives in such a scenario.
@dianeneverfales wrote, "I just lost my husband three weeks ago. He was 30, I am 31. This just gave me some hope I didn’t even realize I needed. Thank you." @thedoctorsdangle07 commented, "This is the bare minimum, ladies. If you're a young widow and any man is ever intimidated by your late husband, it's a no for me." @almapena23 remarked, "This hurts me cause I don’t want anyone to replace my brother-in-law, but I don’t want my sister to be solo her whole life; she’s only 27." @susanesqueda02 shared, "My brother died when he was 20 and his son's mom died 15 years later. Her husband made sure to honor her wish of having her buried as close to my brother as he could. We were with him when we picked her spot."
@._.l3nni expressed, "He loves him because he loved you so well, he loves him because he loves you. I'm unwell." @rye1iejomorris pointed out, "This is everything. No intimidation. No competition. He simply just wants to honor someone who meant so much to you." @lisamarieeebezee highlighted, "Huge respect! For those saying you could never, don't forget she didn't choose to live life without him; that is a path that was chosen for her. She did, in fact, choose to open her heart again to someone else. The least they can do is respect their love that ended so suddenly."
