10-year-old noticed mom and dad leave each other cute notes—then he left a note for mom that left her tearing up

Children often model what they see and hear. The best way parents can inculcate good values in their kids is to be thriving examples for them. A mom named Lisa Goebel (@lisagoebel4boys) was delighted to witness the surprise her 10-year-old had for her, Newsweek reported. The little boy had been observing his parents discreetly leave notes for each other randomly. He put his observation into action and decided to offer a gesture that had the proud parents and the internet in tears. The simplest act proved to them that they were doing parenting right.

The mom noted how she first began the practice with her three older boys. She’d write cute little notes and put them with their lunches. When she remarried, she continued the tradition with her husband, who was glad to reciprocate the same gesture. Over time, it became a practice that defined their everyday lives. "We never thought much of it until it clicked with this TikTok video," Goebel said. Sometimes, there would also be small items, such as candy or chocolates, instead of the notes. These, too, had the same intention of bringing a smile to the recipient’s face. Calling them "random spouts of love,” the mom noted how it became a natural part of their lives.

While the parents continued the practice with no expectations and pure love, the 10-year-old had been watching and noticing. He decided to pitch in with the most beautiful gesture. Goebel was surprised to walk to her fridge and see a note, not from her husband but from her son. “Hey, Mom, here’s a thank-you gift for being the best mom. Good morning, I love you,” the little boy wrote. The mom was already touched by the fact that her son had picked up on the thoughtful habit, but there was more. When she proceeded to pack his lunch, she found yet another note her son had left her, this time with an even more thoughtful observation.

“Hi, Mom, I hope you have a good day,” the 10-year-old began. He then randomly mentioned, “I’m just trying to help you out. I hope your back feels better soon.” Goebel had been dealing with a back injury for a while, and for her son to make note of that spoke volumes to her. Towards the end of the note, the little boy wrote, “Have a great day." The word "great" was mindfully written after striking off the word "good." "Him noticing and wanting me to have a 'great' day and not just a 'good' day melted my heart," the mom said. A renewed sense of love and energy filled the mom with that simple note. It worked magic like no other.

"My heart is full. With each note left from any of my boys... it lets me know that we did something right,” she remarked. “This kid has the kindest heart,” she wrote in the caption of her post. Many people were in awe of the boy’s gesture and thoughtfulness. Many parents were delighted to see the effect of leading by example. @ciera_nelson11 wrote, “He sees your healthy love.” @jpope26 added, “Oh, this baby is loved.”
