A butterfly was repeatedly appearing on bride’s veil during vows—the officiant made a comment that left her in tears

There’s something powerful about love that it finds its way even through distance. The simplest symbols and signs can hold profound value only because of love. A couple, Julie and Felix Schröter, celebrated their wedding in Italy with one of these powerful signs, PEOPLE reported. The bride and groom were at their ceremony when a butterfly kept appearing on Julie’s veil. Lingering for a while, it left the guests in awe but also in confusion. The officiant who had been noticing the entire scenario made a heart-melting observation and took their entire day up a notch.

The wedding content creator, Palma Racaj, revealed how the precious story unfolded. The duo was present with the officiant, along with 30 wedding guests, for their ceremony. Everyone noticed an orange butterfly hovering over the bride for a while. After finding its way above her head on her veil, it sat there for nearly half an hour. While Julie couldn’t see the butterfly herself, it created quite an intriguing and beautiful sight for her groom and the others present there. Racaj even shared a glimpse of the beautiful bride and the butterfly keeping her company. "The butterfly came during the ceremony and stayed with her until they said their vows," Racaj explained.

The butterfly left soon after the vows and the timing seemed surprising to many. During the ceremony, the officiant also spotted the sight. Having known the family for a while, he knew the story, the ups and downs and everything about the big day. When the butterfly came and sat on Julie’s head for a bit, he couldn’t help but connect to an astonishing theory. “I'm sorry to interrupt but there is a butterfly on your veil and he’s not going,” the man noted. He then immediately added, “That’s your grandma.”

Julie was swiftly moved to tears at the thought shared by the officiant. Her grandma was back in Germany and due to critical health conditions, was unable to fly all the way to another country for the wedding. Since the woman was an important figure in her life, the bride was undoubtedly missing her presence and blessings on the big day. When the officiant suggested that the butterfly hovering over her was her grandma, she couldn’t help but think how beautiful the idea was. The little thing remaining throughout the ceremony added to the fact that her grandma was right with her in spirit, supporting her on her big day.

“The bride lost it and tears were running,” Racaj noted. Speaking of the emotional value the scene had, she added, “This was so special that I will never forget it. There are things you can’t put into words and this is definitely one of them.” Many viewers also found it too coincidental and knew there had to be something more special to it. Many others added that they, too, felt their loved ones make an appearance in the form of butterflies or subtle signs. @laesmeraldavictoria said, “I’m so happy her grandma sent her a sign.” @sheiliatorresphotography remarked, “I’ve also had this happen at weddings I’ve photographed — the most precious thing to witness.”
