101-yr-old grandpa was unsure if he could dance with granddaughter at wedding—ended up giving her a wholesome surprise

Just like parents, many grandparents also have dreams and plans for their grandchildren’s wedding day. Despite their age, they wish to be a part of the celebration and make it as memorable as possible. A woman named Amanda (@alatorre96) revealed that her 101-year-old grandpa also had one special gesture in mind for her big day. He wanted to fulfil Amanda’s wish of walking her down the aisle and having her first dance with her too. Given his age, he wasn’t sure he would manage it, but kept it in his heart to deliver a memory of a lifetime to the sweet bride.

Amanda has been close to her grandparents throughout. Her page captured a variety of gestures and practices she has to keep her bond intact with her grandparents. Right from fashion shows to chit chats and more, several videos capture the woman with the elderly couple having the best time. The young woman shared a glimpse of herself with her grandpa when she was a toddler. Alongside the picture were the words, “Granda, when I grow up, I want you to walk me down the aisle. Can you do my first dance with me as well?” Her grandpa’s picture revealed the response, “Amanda, I’ll be 101. I don’t know if I’ll be able to do it anymore. Hopefully, I can still walk.”

In another post, the woman revealed that her grandfather didn’t want to get her hopes up due to his age. She added that he didn’t even want to have practice for that reason. However, when the big day came, love and emotion overpowered age and all other barriers. The 101-year-old saw his little girl all dolled up and knew there could be nothing more special than to be a part of her day. In her caption, the granddaughter revealed that when she came out of the “hidden suite” as a bride, the elderly man instantly “teared up.” With a flood of emotion, he was delighted to hold her hand and proceed slowly and steadily with her down the aisle.

“We did it,” the post read, with a picture of the bride and her beloved grandpa hand in hand. “The most special moment. We walked all the way down the aisle. I have never felt more loved,” the caption read. Amanda’s grandpa also kept up with his granddaughter’s wish to have a first dance. The video captured the duo slowly and lovingly with smiles, tears and gazes that came from the purest hearts. “Despite no practice, it was the best time!” she wrote in her caption. People were mesmerized by the power of love coming through above everything else to ensure the day was just perfect.

Many recalled their grandparents who have passed and how much the gesture would have meant to them. @ruglord259 said, “Trillion dollars couldn’t compare to how wealthy these souls are.” @sinisterotaku added, “I love this, I would have done anything for this.” @whitneywants remarked, “As someone who had her grandpa walk her down the aisle, this is so special.” @85melanie said, “What a blessing!”
