A woman refused to invite her date home after a great dinner—the heartbreaking reason made him call every woman he knew
Dating has always been a hassle for women. The uncertainty of whether they will meet someone who makes them uncomfortable is one of the biggest concerns women face on their first dates. TikTok user Andrew Lusk, who goes by @thesquelch, did not realize the gravity of this fear until a recent date he went on. After dinner, he noticed that the woman's face began showing signs of fear. When he inquired, she revealed that she would not invite him to her place. When she explained herself, her confession broke his heart. On April 21, 2026, Lusk revealed how her painful story led him to call every woman he knew.
The 32-year-old assured her that he was okay with her not inviting him. However, after learning the truth behind it, he was left speechless. His date revealed that she was hesitant to invite men over ever since her last date assaulted her. The woman's heartbreaking confession led him to ponder how many women might have had similar experiences. He immediately called all the women he knew in his life, and shockingly, every woman he spoke to echoed the same sentiment: that they had been assaulted at least once in their lives.
Lusk noted that it took him 32 years to understand the male privilege he enjoys. Expressing his concern as a father of a daughter, he noted how terrified he felt learning about the world his daughter would be living in. The man also expressed his desire to use his platform for a good cause and help women speak up. "I'm not going to say 'it's not all men,' no, it's the majority of you, unfortunately, and that's just the reality you have to accept," he asserted.
According to a report released by the US Department of Justice, researchers analyzed data and identified 1,968 sexual assaults committed by acquaintances between 2017 and 2020. Out of them, 14% occurred during first dates. The report noted that since most dating apps do not perform criminal background checks or security screenings of the people who register, they fail to give women information about the person they are going out with.
The man's video garnered support from many internet users who expressed their gratitude for raising the important issue that must be tackled soon. @Juliann_queen remarked, "When I was pregnant with my first child, the moment I found out it was a girl, I sobbed because you're right. We live differently." @jordanthebabayaga recounted, "The green flag for me with my partner is that even though we'd known each other for years as friends, he asked, 'May I hold your hand?' on our first date." @RachelJamesArtistry shared, "You can have a podcast. Thank you for being a voice for women. No one seems to hear us."
