A young model was catcalled on her way to a photoshoot — her 3-word comeback left the men shaken
Catcalling is never cool, and anyone who thinks otherwise needs a reality check. When a Reddit user (u/Known_Resolution5836) was on her way to a photoshoot, two men in a car catcalled her. However, instead of ignoring them, she responded in a way that shut them down instantly. Sharing the story on Reddit on February 11, 2026, the storyteller revealed that the men were not prepared for her response.
In case there weren’t already enough reasons NOT to catcall…

The 23-year-old was 5'1" and weighed under 100 lbs and had a babyface. Although she lived outside the city, she traveled into the city for modeling jobs. During one of her photo shoots, as she was walking from the train station, two men rolled down their car window to catcall her near a stoplight. While the user could not hear exactly what they said, she understood she was being catcalled. Instead of ignoring them, she stared at them for a second and replied, "I'm 16." According to the user, their faces showed "horrified" expressions. "If you've ever catcalled someone, piss off. I’m not a minor, but for all they know, I easily could've been," the woman wrote.
Catcalling can never be justified. However, some people try to frame it as a "casual" way of complimenting women. What they fail to understand is how it can make the person feel uncomfortable and unsafe. Many women feel anxious and freeze in such moments, especially when they occur in public spaces where one should feel at ease.
When someone is reduced to a lewd remark and shouted at in public, it never comes across as flattering. When the woman was walking by herself, she was not expecting the two men to make any passing remarks. However, as soon as she told them she was a minor, they immediately looked disgusted with themselves. This shows that people feel entitled to harass women until they are confronted with something unexpected.
Soon after her post gained traction, many users shared their experiences in the comments. u/Space_Case_Stace recounted, "When I was 16, I worked at McDonald's. A cop came in and offered to put me on house arrest at his place. My stepdad was right behind him. He was also a cop, so I just said "Hi Dad!" and let the chips fall where they will. It's gross. It's not flattering, it's insulting." u/Ok-Strawberry-4215 mentioned, "Honestly, I’m guessing they thought you were younger and got worried you might be old enough to think of telling your parents." u/stargazer2020s remarked, "My daughters and her friends were catcalled from about 10. Oddly, it eased off when she was no longer a teen. Usually by much older men. Creeps."
