Amazon driver saw a doormat saying ‘hide packages from husband’ while delivering — but did exactly the opposite for a hilarious reason
If you think delivery drivers simply drive, drop off packages, and leave, think again. Their day involves compassion, drama, thoughtfulness, and more, which are essential parts of their work. One Amazon driver experienced this, and her wholesome reaction was caught on camera. The customer, David Nichols, who goes by @david.nichols.94617 on Facebook, shared the encounter on October 26, 2026. Their doormat read, “Hide packages from husband.” Unfortunately, the woman left the item on the door itself; however, another glimpse left the customer impressed.
The footage showed the worker walk up to the door with the package. She was about to place it near their mat when she read something written on it. She immediately picked up the box and her face lit up, as if an adventure awaited her. Still smirking, she looked around, earnestly hoping to find a hiding spot. She checked the chairs, the decor, the lawn, and even the sides to see where she could hide it. When she couldn’t find a spot, she pulled the smartest move. She checked the order name, then confidently placed the box back on their porch in clear sight. Her reason? “He got something this time too.” She noted how the woman, or the wife in the house, wasn’t the sole customer for this order; there were multiple packages, and the man was just as guilty as she was.
“You’re good,” she said, playfully adding that the man could say nothing since his name was on the order next to his spouse. “You’re not alone,” she said, chuckling, before leaving their porch and getting back to her duty. The employee’s job was simply to leave the package and walk away. However, not only did she try her best to find a spot, but she also checked and highlighted that there was no reason to be in trouble because the husband had also placed an order. That’s a girl’s girl. In this case, the delivery driver showed humor and solidarity along with her delivery skills. And that shows that these employees have far more responsibility than just dropping a box.
In another heartfelt incident, the actions of a virtuous delivery driver were captured on the Ring camera. The homeowner had dropped a $20 bill outside his door accidentally. When the Amazon worker arrived with the package, he saw the bill, and without a second thought, he slipped it under the box he just delivered. The homeowner didn’t realize he dropped the money until he saw the footage. When he learned what the worker did, he was impressed and grateful. He and his wife reached out to Amazon to let them know that they had a good human on their hands. "I just wanted to thank him for reminding me that people like him do exist," the woman said. When he returned for another delivery, the couple was sure to thank him with a special gift. "His integrity was so innocent and so natural" that he deserved the recognition.
