Baby mumbled a word during playtime with his 3-year-old brother — mom rushed in when she realized it was a chilling warning
A little yelp or mumble from a child can serve as an important early alert in situations that seem otherwise harmless. A mother named Ashley Johnson Miller shared a video on TikTok on Sunday, February 8, 2026, under the handle @ashleyjohnsonmiller2, showing her toddler and baby playing together. Her then three-year-old son was seen using a screwdriver to stab ice while his baby brother sat in front of him. The moment seemed like typical playtime, but the baby suddenly mumbled something that immediately caught Ashley’s attention. The mother immediately entered the frame, acknowledging the baby’s warning.

The video shows the kids casually playing when suddenly the toddler’s head dropped, and he stopped stabbing the ice with the screwdriver. The baby sitting in front of him immediately noticed the change, then pointed at his brother and mumbled "seizure" to their mom. Ashley then approached and gently held her son’s head, explaining, “That’s a seizure.” The toddler lifted his head and continued playing as if nothing had happened, prompting Ashley to reassure him, “You had a seizure.” He asked why, to which she admitted, “I don’t know why,” before checking that he was okay. He replied, “I’m okay,” and she thanked the baby for alerting her while kissing his forehead. "Thank you for telling me." The footage captured a mix of tension and relief, highlighting the mother’s calm response and the toddler’s resilience. After the incident, the children went back to their playtime as shown in the clip.
The video concludes with updates on the children’s lives. Onscreen texts reveal that Sawyer, now eight, continues to experience seizures and lives with epilepsy but remains full of joy. Ashley notes he still uses tools like screwdrivers under supervision. Her younger child, Sterling, now six, continues to bring humor and comfort to the family, offering support as a sibling and advocate for Sawyer. Sterling has since also become a big brother to a little sister named Shiloh.
Even toddlers can rise to the occasion and come to someone’s rescue when needed. In another similar incident, a 3-year-old, Cody, noticed his mom, Shantell Woods, having a medical emergency while at home alone. Shantell had a seizure on the living room couch and was unconscious, leaving Cody to act quickly. Remembering what he had seen before, the little boy found her phone and made a FaceTime call to a known person, Kaia. “He unlocked my phone, and he called Kaia,” Shantell later said, amazed by her son’s quick thinking.
On the call, Cody repeatedly said, “Kaia, Kaia, help mommy, help mommy,” prompting her to call 911 immediately. Kaia described the moment as terrifying, saying, “I panicked. She called me, and she didn't say anything on FaceTime. So I knew something was not right.” Thanks to Cody’s alertness and quick action, emergency help arrived in time. Shantell said, “I want to cry right now. He is my hero,” highlighting the courage and presence of mind of her young son.
