Car dealer's parody of iconic sitcom 'The Office' is just comedic gold

The mockumentary of 'The Office' by the employees at the New York car dealership is brilliance at its best.

“The Office,” an evergreen sitcom by NBC, captured the hearts of many with its everyday, relatable corporate shenanigans when it first sired in 2005. The comedy out of the relatability struck people and had them spellbound season after season, even after the show concluded in 2013. A car dealer, Grace Kerber, stumbled upon something similar while filming content for "Mohawk Chevrolet." The woman has amassed stunning popularity with her content that has flavors of the sitcom’s humor and style. Becoming a star on the internet was never in the books for Gerber, per the New York Post. However, after she filmed one clip of the witty parody, people wanted more.

Kerber began with the idea of hiding miniature ducks in the Mohawk Chevrolet office for employees to find. Right from the office aquarium, desks, rims on display and every space she could find, she sneaked the ducks in every nook and corner. “Everyone got ducked today,” she wrote in the text. People quite frankly loved the idea and from thereon, Kerber decided to keep going. She followed up and flooded the page with glimpses of her real-life office setting. Titled "The Dealership,” she decided to make it a flawlessly hysterical parody of “The Office.”

Right from introducing characters, having sarcastic moments and revealing the silliest facts about her office, Kerber ingeniously made a real-life “The Office” and people were in awe. The best part about her content that keeps people anticipating in surprise for more is that it is honestly and accurately relatable. “My teammates and I knew we had to make some sort of content with that. A mockumentary-style mini-episode just felt right,” she exclaimed. Soon several employees joined the show and are beyond excited to feature in the parody that is posted once a week on the page.

One of the episodes that got the heart of the viewers was inspired by Kerber’s plight. The woman was having trouble driving a truck and parking due to her height and hilariously depicted the same in a witty episode. “That did happen, I could not park that truck,” she recalled. It hysterically featured the woman struggling to climb up into the truck and then freaking out in the presence of a coworker as she headed over to drive. Just like the sitcom featured the banter between employees and captures the various emotions as they face different tasks, Kerber depicted the same in the natural quirky setting she finds herself in.

The main element of the sitcom was getting a one-on-one perspective from each character in the show and Kerber went all out and captured those as well. For instance, in the popular episode 5 where she struggles with her truck, Kerber shot a personal perspective expressing how frightened out of her wits she was. She also captured the perspective of her coworker who had been assisting her to the park before being hysterically fed up with Kerber. @smallandbald wrote, “I would 100% watch a show called ‘The Dealership’ in this style.” @cassiebeisch shared that their marketing was hilariously working and said, “Do I live anywhere near this dealership? No. Did I watch the entire thing? Yes. Will I drive 20 hours to buy a truck from you? Possibly.”
