Dad took his tux to the cleaners 4 months after his daughter’s wedding — and found a hidden note inside that moved him to tears
For brides, walking down the aisle with their fathers by their side will always hold a special place in their hearts. When Threads user B.P Sweany (@Bp_sweany) was taking his tuxedo to the cleaners after wearing it for his daughter's wedding, he found a note inside one of the pockets. The note written in the kerchief left him emotional. Sharing the sweet note with his Threads followers on February 25, 2026.
Threads user B.P Sweany hadn't worn the tuxedo since the first time he wore it for his daughter Soph's wedding on October 10, 2025. Four months later, when he was going to attend a fancy dinner, he decided to take out the tux and give it to the cleaners before the event. While checking the pockets before giving it for laundry, he found a kerchief with a note inside. When he opened the note and read the contents inside, it moved him. Thanking her dad for always being by her side, the daughter's sweet surprise caught him off guard. In the kerchief, the daughter got a few lovely words for her father printed on it, which read, "Dad, Thank you for walking by my side today and always. Love, Soph. October 10, 2025."
The dad, who only came to know of the note later, was surprised by the sweet gesture. Sharing the note, he wrote, "Was cleaning out my pockets, and I found this surprise." The dad's post won hearts online, as users reacted to his daughter's sweet note. @justjes68 wrote, "What an amazing surprise, I would have cried." @todayswomanco commented, "That's lovely. Did you tear up?" @1914.wiseman wrote, "Extra special memory for you." Sweet moments of a bride's wedding always become magical when they have their dad by their side.
And good fathers can be counted on even after you marry off to someone else. Sweany's post reminds us of bride Dana, whose father walked her down the aisle on her big day. However, soon after her wedding, she received an unexpected text from her dad that moved her to tears. He wrote, "Remember not to be shy about calling me if you need me to pick you up from the train station or anywhere else. First, ask your husband, and if he can't, ask me. Okay." As soon as she opened the text, she teared up. Calling her dad one of her favourite people, she said that she could always count on her dad.
