Tipping a delivery driver is often seen as a form of appreciation for bringing food right to your door. Whether the act is more applicable when workers go the extra mile, like driving in bad weather, is left up to each customer. However, one Domino's worker's response after seeing no gratuity offered is turning heads. As reported by Inside Edition, the incident took place on January 25, 2026, during a severe winter storm and was captured on the customer's doorbell camera. The employee was enraged, leading to an unexpected turn of events.

According to the customer, Jaylen Howard, things got heated after he signed the delivery receipt without writing anything in the tip section. The doorbell camera footage shows the driver taking the check back, looking at it, and immediately turning around with the pizza still in hand. When Howard questioned what was happening, the worker walked toward his car and replied, "You can come get it," before adding, "We're not delivering for no tips today." He then told the man that he would have to pick up the order from the store instead. It was later revealed that there was no intention not to tip. He had actually planned to leave the driver a generous $15 in cash on his $29 order. However, before he got the chance to communicate that, the employee left.

When asked if Howard ever got the pizza after the awkward encounter, he admitted that he eventually received it after another driver was sent to complete the delivery. On January 25, 2026, severe winter storms created risky driving conditions across large parts of the United States, including the area where the customer lives. After the video gained attention online, Domino's addressed the incident in a statement to PEOPLE, calling the driver's behaviour "completely unacceptable." The company said the franchise apologized to the man and confirmed that the driver had been terminated.

The incident also adds to the ongoing debate about tipping expectations. In another story, a restaurant server shared how a man left no tip on a $400 bill. Instead of confronting him, she politely asked if there had been a problem with the service when he came back. The situation quickly became awkward after the person's friend, who worked as a bartender, found out about the zero tip and left $200. Feeling embarrassed, the customer later changed the receipt and left a generous gratuity. Unlike this diner, however, Howard maintains that he never intended to skip the payment and simply wasn't given the chance before the driver left with his order.
